Fun Fact: Gotham City is located in Jersey and Metropolis is across the bay in Delaware.

So Superman lives in Delaware

I know a prof who teaches there.

Things about the state? There are three counties: the one in the north, the one in the middle and the one in the south.
Percentage total area: may have a higher % marsh and swamp than Louisiana.
Has better Amtrak service than almost all of the other 49 states (thanks Joe)
One Nascar race can fill all the hotels and motels in the northernmost county.

Bethany Beach is also pretty nice. Not too far down the road from Dogfish Head and there are some good crab spots.

Dogfish Head is notable imo.

I don’t get the hype. It’s alright, but nothing special.

its full of lawyers and judges due to it being the home of many companies from a legal standpoint. Bankruptcy court up these is a freaking racket - lawyers and judges and trustees bleeding already insolvent companies dry with fees.

Much cooler place than people know.

Northern county is all business and southern two counties are agricultural and tourism (good beaches).

U. of Delaware is a top-notch school with an undergraduate enrollment about 23,000. The football program has historically been good at their level - seven national championships, if I recall correctly.

And it's close to so much. Wilmington is located in the Philadelphia regional area and within two hours you can be in DC, Baltimore, NYC, the Jersey Shore, the Delaware beaches, Eastern Shore of Maryland, the Poconos, etc.

I'm pretty sure it only exists as a tax dodge. I've never met anyone from Delaware.

Setting a pretty low bar there. Please allow me to apologize for thinking Abita was a decent beer 9 years ago.

I know a few people who have retired there because the beaches are really nice and it's pretty laid back. I have had good times at Dewey, Bethany, and even Fenwick beaches.

University of Delaware is a party school and has some women.

No sales tax in the state which is nice. Wilmington and Dover suck.

that's all I have.

I know plenty of plant boys that have worked there. Every single one of them is from Louisiana, and they ALL say it is a complete shithole.

They're ALL wrong. As mentioned above, the urban areas are pretty scummy, but I'd be shocked if Louisianians were surprised by this.

Compared to Louisiana it's much better. DE has great roads and infrastructure, and no littering, which I've seen a lot of in LA.

Here's some more Delaware Trivia:

It is completely cut into two sections by the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (the C & D), which obviously stretches from the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware River. Thus, the Delmarva (Delaware/Maryland/Virginia) peninsula is actually a man made island.

The part of the state above the canal is highly industrialized and has the urban center of Wilmington. The part of the state below the canal is primarily agricultural, with the beaches on the Atlantic Coast. People in the northern section sometimes refer to the southern section as [s]Lower Delaware.

The three counties that became Delaware were originally part of the land grant to William Penn (Pennsylvania) after the British gained control of the former Dutch/Swedish colony after 1664. They did not become a separate colony until the early 1700s.

The school which became the University of Delaware was founded in 1743, making it one of the oldest colleges in the United States. Three of the 10 graduates of its first class would sign the Declaration of Independence.

It was the first state to ratify the Constitution (hence, its moniker "The First State" [which is on its license plates]).

It was one of the last slaveholding states in the United States, and only after the ratification of the 13th Amendment (which its legislature/ratification committee had rejected).
