From the article you linked:
quote:

The journalistic goal of objectivity first emerged around the end of the 19th century. It was motivated, in part, by a desire to broaden newspaper readership base by asserting the independence of the press from political parties and ideologies.

So, we have come full circle. Maybe it's a good thing and the cycle can begin anew now.

Every article is the same.

Find a victim

Who can we blame

Distribute negativity and hate

Don't let facts ruin a good story.

I feel like every article I read is just oozing with drama and hyperbole. It feels impossible to just get the facts anywhere without a crap ton of bias injected into it and the author writing in a way that makes it seem like whatever they're writing about is the single greatest thing that's ever happened on the face of the earth.

Does anyone else notice this? I just want to know what's going on without the interjection of insane hyperbole.

It’s been going on for a long time.

I took a Journalism class in high school. My teacher ,Brother Alfred, would have flunked all of those people.

Sounds like you're only reading BuzzFeed and HuffPo. Try some sources that aren't all millennials. The writing in the WSJ and WaPo is great. NOLA Picayune is often pretty good.

It’s the same thing for any online recipes you look up. They start out with some long winded story about how they used to eat X when paw paw and maw maw had the family to the lake house during the summers. Blah blah blah

And you have to wade through dozens of banner ads, auto play videos and affiliate links before you actually get to the recipe

Because 99% of the graduates of journalism schools are liberal, pompous, losers who don’t have skills or brains to be reporters, let alone productive members of society.

Yes, but I never noticed it about Mark Twain. If that guy wrote dramatically it was damn important.

A lot of it is for SEO purposes, but it’s mostly because they think they are special and talented.
