Been watching the wife cook since 0930. Drinking and standing all day is a burden. Its my lot in life.

So, wrapped the extended Thanksgiving with my family in GA. About 2 hrs away. Went to leave and the 2019 Pilot wouldn’t start. Had my uncle jump us so we headed back. Kids went with the grandparents to spend a couple of days. Looking forward to a couple of days with just the wife and me.

Crossed the border back to SC and the Honda skipped, engine light started flashing and was running very rough and was losing power. Struggled up to a Circle K at the next exit and called roadside assistance.

Now we’re sitting here waiting on a tow truck to come take me, the wife and the car to the Honda place 30 miles away. God knows how long we’ll be here and then we’ll have to Uber to get home.

Yay. Happy Thanksgiving!

You just described my family's trip to my parents a few Christmas Eves ago. Ended up being the alternator.

Got towed to the nearest shop and we decided to go to the local Christmas Eve service while we waited for my dad to come get us.

At least we’re at a gas station and not on the side of the damn interstate. Have a full warranty so IDGAS about the car…just want to get home. 30 freaking miles.

Sorry to hear this. I heard on the news yesterday that there is a recall on the 2018 and 2019 Pilot. I just caught the end of the story and do not know the details. But I am concerned for my son and his family. They have a Pilot (I think it's a 2021). He lives in Maryland and drove to Kiawah for Thanksgiving. I hope they don't have any problem coming home.

Get the butterball master built XL turkey fryer because you can fry birds up to 20 pounds.

My turkey today was 19.98 pounds and delicious.

Knock back a Cobra in the parking lot waiting on the tow. We need more trashiness in this thread.

Some racism from today-

During dinner the conversation went to what all malls are closing. Dad says "Cumberland Mall used to be a really nice place, then all the blacks moved in to South Cobb, so that went to shite"

And later after dinner in the living room-

"When we were in Italy, they have women doing lots of men jobs, the garbage man was a little blond haired blue eyed woman dragging the garbage cans in and out of the alleys to the truck. And in Venice, a lot of the ferry hands are female, throwing ropes, big ropes, tying off the big boats in chop, cinching them down. You know they don't have black people in Europe. What they ought to do is take all these black women on welfare and take them to Europe to show them how women work. And then take them to the outskirts of Cancun to show them what real poverty actually looks like"

I’ve been kinda constipated the last couple of weeks.

I had two plates of food.

Now everything is being forced out of me due to internal pressure

How you think she became a grandmother in the first place?

That is called truth not racism.

At my in-laws to finish the night.

My BIL and his wife have a 3 month old and are super protective. They are currently freaking out about my MIL trying to feed her pecan pie.

My wife’s Grandfather has dementia and is wondering around yelling about there being too many people in his house.

My wife’s gay uncles have busted out the scotch. They are pretty conservative and normal until they get drunk, then they get super flamboyant, which will just piss off the Grandpa more.

I love just sitting back and observing.

Not really a fan of the Thanksgiving, the food or most of the family, so we usually spend the week at our Florida home. Last year my parents and brothers family decided to “surprise” us and showed up Thanksgiving morning with a feast ready to cook, then proceeded to complain because I didn’t have enough seasonings.

This year we decided to spend the week in Telluride. We figured it was far enough away that family would leave us alone and we could ski all day. I should have known better, but opening day isn’t until next week. Most of the restaurants are either booked or closed. I grilled a whole beef tenderloin, with mashed potatoes, green beans and the wife made a lemon pie. Turned out to be a nice Thanksgiving.

Supposed to get some decent snow tomorrow so the kids might be able to go sledding.

Currently sitting out by the fire with some neighbors.
