quote:

I found a Montec head between the skin and sternum. No sign of the guy's arrow or insert. No infection and no scar from entree anywhere

Congrats on a fine buck
I was fortunate to grow up hunting a place that killed 200+ deer a year so got to kill and help clean a ton of deer. Had found two separate instances of broadheads in bodys and the deer looked to be perfectly fine one was at least a year or two old wound and the other looked like possibly that same season. Both heads were wrapped in scar tissue and looking at the shot location the person who released the arrow would have just known they were dead deer , missed vitals by 2-3ins

It sure looks like it. We looked at pretty hard and can't figure it out. Maybe a high arrow?

Thanks. The broken brow is the only thing keeping this one from being the 8 I've always wanted. Since I decided to just do a skull mount I suppose I won't get it repaired.

Tried sous vide for the first time on deer last night. Strap and sweet meat. Even my deer hating wife said it was awesome.
