re: A woman could play basketball as well as a man if you practice and keep practice.

At LSU in the late 90s/early 00s, I played against the top LSU women’s basketball players at the rec center (this was pre- Semoine and Sylvia) and i was as good as they were. It never really got to this bc it’s just rec center ball but if I would’ve really got physical on either side of the ball then there would’ve been nothing they could have done to stop me and I saying that as a person just under 6’ that in my prime could barely dunk on a 10’ if all the stars aligned
For more context, I sat the bench for a 5A basketball team.
Their handles and technique were very good however they simply couldn’t run/jump/push with the men on the court. Simply put they were just overpowered.

Perfect analogy.
My youngest daughter was a sectional level swimmer who made Junior Nationals once. She won numerous state championships.
Her best times would not have qualified for state level meets if she were held to the boys standard. And she would routinely be beaten in practice by the slowest boys.

5 average NBA players would absolutely destroy the top 5 female players.
Hell, the McDonald's All American team would mop the floor with them. Dunking over them. While the ladies can very rarely dunk even with the same height / weight.
Spud Webb could dunk but most 6' 7" women can't even come close.
A 6'7" person born as a male would crush the WNBA players.

To be fair, this doesn't necessarily mean much when it comes to a game like basketball. A smaller, slower, and weaker person can indeed be a better ball player than the bigger, faster, stronger player, but the product might not be as compelling to watch.
What about soccer?

Being able to dunk does not make you athletic when you're frickin 6'9".
You could have watched the video, apologized, and saved face. Pretty sure an unathletic and slow white guy is going to fly past Rodman and Dr J and throw a reverse dunk on them. They would also not be able to get down the court fast enough to get all those dunks and assists off the break he was famous for.
Let me simplify it with something so basic even a Razorback fan can understand.

The National Champion LSU women's team practiced against a men's intramural team and they played even.

Soccer is another question. That game is pure athleticism from one end to the other. In no universe is a woman ever going to be a better soccer player than a man.

Clay Travis has routinely offered $1 million to the WNBA Championship team to play the Tennessee high school boys champion.

Larry Bird is my second favorite ball player of all tine behind Jordan. I grew up watching the guy play. I know exactly what his game was about. He was slower and less athletic than his peers and that shines through on any highlight reel that you want to play. But at the same time he was the best player on the court every time he took the court until MJ came along.

Frat boys demolish best college women's teams.
I used to play against WNBA women. We'd crush them. 15-1, 15-2 shite like that.
Borderline D2 players, some guys not even played HS. It was destruction. Women's basketball needs to be separate.
Best women in world would struggle to make an avg boys varsity team as a backup.

I wish we could somehow put a prime Bird up against Lebron just to watch Lebron rage quit like a frickin bitch.
I grew up watching '80s NBA. Never had a favorite team but Larry Bird was my favorite player. I think a lot of NBA fans today don't have a frame of reference for how good he really was. Prime Bird would demolish LeBron with his basketball skills and shite talking.

LeBron would duck him just like he does the best players in today's game. Bird would clown his arse hard.

I highly doubt they played even unless the men were especially bad.
I routinely helped Coach Barmore at Tech put together guys to scrimmage the Lady Techsters when they were the best teams in the country. Multiple All-Americans.
We were above average HS players, no college players at all, and we never once got beat by them. Not once.
This is with us having no set plays and no organized practices. Just show up and play. Meanwhile, they were running all their sets.
The difference in ability is too much to overcome if the men are average to above average.

wnba champs vs Tennessee boys champs
If incentiveized the boys could keep them from getting across half court but maybe 5 times in a game.
Boys go over 150 points.
Wnba struggles to score once.
The difference is that much.
