Imminent domain only works for private property under U.S. jurisdiction, and even then, the U.S. must pay “just compensation” for the taking.

If you mean conquest, yes, I think that should be on the table.

WE could have bought it by now with the money the Somali scammers stole

We could definitely have had a good down payment on it. Then, add in the Tariff revenue and we are getting somewhere. Of course, we won't get any of the fraud money back, it is already in other countries banks.

Art of the Deal…

Buy it with bonds and then Declare Bankruptcy a few months later.

Bankruptcy judge cuts the price in half and shorts the bond holders for half the price.

how does Greenland help the average middle class American?

It doesn't. Not a single iota. (the elites and bluebloods as usual benefit.)

American serfs, their votes and their struggles, hopes for "promises made" and a better future do NOT matter. This is clear. We have been lied to since Day One.

What matters apparently is....An Emperor and his bosses playing a game of 'Risk' with MIC international escapades, their continuing plunder of wealth and sovereign territory, and enriching the neo-Roman Empire's Banks, Big Oil, Wall St, etal.

I swear to God, I’ll never understand how some posters became so invested in Trump and believed in him. He’s always been a huckster and was drafted by the Jones, Day firm to
be the frontman for Big Money…

Who gets the money? Is it spread among the people of Greenland? The politicians? Does it go to their national reserve?

This smells of the Bahrain casino strategy. When I lived there in the mid-80s, I was told a story about an approach the Emir took when pressured by the Saudis in the 70s.

Back then, Bahrain was the place. Dubai was small and Doha practically non-existent. Western firms used it as a base because the Emir allowed drinking. It was problematic to the Saudis because many would take the short hop over for the weekend and get trashed.

Preparing for an upcoming state visit from the King of SA, the Emir learned he was going to be pressured to end the drinking. Bahrain relied on SA, so he knew it would be a difficult discussion. During the dinner, when the Emir sensed it was about time, he asked the King of SA to come with him to an adjacent room where he showed him a 3D model of the proposed Bahrain Casino. The King of SA spent the next several hours talking the Emir out of the casino and never mentioned the drinking.

Thus, USA may very well get a bases and certain control of large swaths of Greenland while "agreeing" to drop the purchase idea.

Also my thing is that what do we need it for that we can’t accomplish with Denmark owning it?

One of the basic tenets of the Western Alliance after WWII was no more colonization. UK hated it but had no choice.

If Obama can puke up a trillion dollars for a "stimulus package," then I'm good with Trump puking up $600 billion for Greenland. At least that is an actual investment. Ample natural resources, strategic positioning for our military, and a perfect place for ze camps.
