Agreed. I've never known someone whose "authentic self" was to be a lunch lady.

Trans in the Army would be outstanding as front line decoys. Something to draw fire while real soldiers attacked.

I'd love for there to be a TV show where some trans person wants to go the whole 9 yards but in some completely impossible way, they don't get to see any incremental changes of their surgeries. The show is the final reveal of all the surgeries. You see 3 side by sides.
1) Them as their original sex
2) Some artists rendering of what they are going for
3) Then their reaction shot as they see the end result in the mirror.
I am sure the comparison of what they wanted and what they actually got would be comically different.

You know what's sad? This person has jump wings so there was a time in its life it was able to run. This person is a major. Now I'm not too familar with officer promotions but I would assume this individual had held a company command as a CPT before even being considered for MAJ.
Meaning to me this person had once held the standard. But instead of resigning his commission in grace, he out shammed the Mafia to stay in. Damn, as a former consigliere I have to applaud that level of skating.
I'm still upset about this. How the hell does someone who obviously doesn't fit the standard and is depressed get a free pass and a staff officer position as a G6? Good luck managing C2 systems in theater when anything that breaks will. What's going to happen after a massive comms failure or cyber attack when seconds count? Is he going to need a safe space?
Army gonna Army. They will do anything to not address toxic leadership. If I was still in I'd be just over 26 years. Knowing my luck I'd be this a-hole's SGM or some sr staff NCO. That'd be my sign to drop a retirement packet.
People don't have time for this. There's already a moving trend to trash resumes with pronouns as nobody wants to work on a team with someone who is going to be a problem.

The Senate Armed Services Committee wants the Army to go back to the APFT: LINK
The ACFT has been one big charlie foxtrot since inception. The logistics of it alone is ridiculous considering with the APFT all you needed was enough flat surface for a 2 mile run and a stopwatch.

But as I read the article, this assertion is not true at all. First, the exemption is not automatic. Second, the exemption is temporary, initially only for a period of six months.
Do you read the article differently?

If it's a support branch, promotion to MAJ and above, without leadership experience like company command is very common.

I'm fine with any LGBTQYZ joining the military if they don't dumb down the requirements. There is no logical justification as to why they should do that.
