Congrats for respecting the process of your new homeland.
As a reward for doing it the right way, you should get to ride shotgun in on of the prison buses when they take the illegals get it onto the tarmac to be loaded on planes for CECOT and yell at the criminals the whole way to the airport.

A couple of years back I actually coached a coworker of mine on Indian curse words that he can use with Indian scam callers!
If you would have led with that, I'm sure the process would have been much shorter.
Congrats.

There is currently multiple lawsuits about this (here are two examples):
India Times - TCS
The Register - Cognizant
From what I've directly observed, a lot of it mostly stems from the fact that Indians know how badly they can exploit the Indian H1Bs. The H1Bs pretty much have to work whatever hours the Indian (non H1B) client wants, under whatever conditions. Which is why I sat in an empty office (except for the H1Bs, I was the only American) on Good Friday, the Monday after Easter, the two weeks around Christmas and New Years, while the Indian boss was "working" remote.
IBM has also been actively working to replace Americans with Indians in Asia and H1Bs, and it isn't just because of cost. That didn't happen until Krishna became CEO.

Congrats! More people need to hear what you went through to become a citizen. We really look at making the process cheaper and easier.
That being said:
People who skip the line must really piss you off.

First, Congrats
Do you describe yourself as American or Indian-American?

When were you eligible to get a SSN?
I think people are confused when non-citizens get SSN’s.

First, congratulations!
Second, I think most people on all sides agree our immigration system is horribly broken. It should not be easier to live here illegally than it is to legally become a citizen.
Thanks for your commitment to our country and for the patience to work through the system. Welcome to citizenship.

One of my best lifelong friends met her USN husband in Europe. She is from Scotland.
She said the test was quite difficult and few Americans could pass it w/o big time studying.
