I think she would be better than the big headed Ahole Republican running against her. A big jerk. I cant remember his name. But I can not stand Cassidy.

Well if Bill is still reading this forum, I would like to say F u RINO.

I just can't see Cassity winning regardless of what he runs as. Independent, R or D.
He sank his own boat.. I've met both Fleming and Letlow. Both are good but Fleming just seems to be more qualified and experienced. Letlow should just wait her turn. 6 years from now sure.

The lotion bottle top in that pic makes me laugh.

FYI Cassidy cannot run as an independent if he loses the Republican primary. The new primary law requires candidates to choose when they qualify in February. He can run as an independent but he would have to skip the Republican primary in order to do so

I fear that if letlow vacates her seat the idiot Beth Mizell will run for her seat. You want to talk about useless.

I like Julia but she’s kind of an absentee landlord. Barely visits the district she represents.
I used to be in her district, now in Johnson's district. Her constituent services people were very helpful in a couple of situations I'm personally familiar with. You're lucky if you can get somebody from Johnson's office to return your call.

Sorry, President Trump, but Julia is a terrible choice. I’ll be voting for Dr. John Fleming in the primary, who is actually a principled conservative.

Guess I won’t be seeing as many social media posts anymore from Bill Cassidy touting how often he voted for Trump agenda and doing everything he can to try to ride Trump’s coat tails.

I can tell you that Cassidy is not was not Doc Fenton. I know him and he is not Cassidy.

There is no Republican primary. There is an open primary. Cassidy has to be one of the two top vote-getters.
If the Republicans were running a popular, but unelectable, candidate then it would make sense. Cassidy could split votes in the open primary and cause a runoff between the democrat and the unelectable R or between himself and the unelectable R. If the democrat wound up winning I’m sure Cassidy would switch parties and be rewarded for his antics with a major position in the next democratic executive department.

Louisiana now has closed primaries for U.S. Senator. Pay attention.
Posted on 1/18/26 at 7:12 am to ItzMe1972
Hmm. . ., does this mean he knows something or is he just upping the pressure on Miss Julia?

To the good people of Louisiana, kick Bill Cassidy out of office. He's a piranha. Worse than that he's a Rhino. Unless the Republican Party purges these Rhino's out of the party they will lose every election for office in the future. We send these elected officials to Washington to vote conservative, NOT to consort with democrats in this b/s bipartisanship.
We constantly see politicians like Bill Cassidy vote with the democrats on key issues. The democrats stick together, the Republicans do not. Therein lies the problem.
We want pure Conservative Republicans - not Piranha Rhinos like Bill Cassidy. .

Cassidy and John Bel Edwards were vehemently against this; they know this kills their political careers, particularly JBE.

Bill Cassidy has NO CHANCE of winning a federal election in Louisiana
He played himself
He played himself

Julia Letlow jumping in now would be a wrench. Not that I don't like her, but supposedly Julie Emerson, who declared her candidacy just a couple short months ago, wasn't going to get in the race if Letlow was getting in.
I like Fleming's record and history, but is he going to be a one-term Senator? Because he's going to be 81 years old at the end of his first term if he wins, and we have way too many old arse frickers in D.C. already. Also...he seems to be making carbon capture/sequestration his #1 campaign issue. I agree government shouldn't be funding that stuff in the name of "climate change", and it seems like a crappy way to allow eminent domain, but I'm not sure that's the Number 1 thing to run for U.S. Senate on.

Thank you for the clarification. I did not realize that.
Really make you wonder now what Cassidy is going to do. He's got $10 Million plus in his campaign account. He ain't gonna just let that sit.
Honestly, though, with there being three "name" candidates challenging him in the primary, and Eric Skrmetta who is a Public Service Commissioner and known in conservative activist circles in Louisiana, all running, I think it's very likely Cassidy makes the closed primary runoff. He's going to have alot of big money folks motivating folks to get to the polls and pull the lever for him. The seniority thing for Congress is going to come into play.
So we're likely to see a closed GOP primary runoff between Cassidy, and either Fleming, Miguez or Emerson (if Letlow stays out of the race). Hopefully things don't get so nasty during the primary that the supporters of the challenging candidates that don't make it end up sitting home, or even pulling the lever for Cassidy. Miguez is my personal preference, but I'd pull the lever for any of the four GOP challengers over Cassidy in a primary runoff.
