When researchers asked people about conspiracy theories, like whether the science behind global warming has been invented or distorted, or whether experiments with new drugs are routinely carried out on the public without their knowledge or consent, conservatives consistently believed them more often than liberals.
So conservatives are more likely to believe the actual truth that leftists claim is a conspiracy theory.

A conservative might nod along to a logically flawed argument for tax cuts.
There are no logically flawed arguments for tax cuts.

Judging from the nonsense on this board, this is a true statement.
I support small government, low taxes and conservative principles. Yet I'm also not a complete psychopath nutjob.
Ever notice how people don't believe in just one conspiracy theory? The same people that think the twin towers were brought down by CIA planted explosives also think the moon landings were fake, the Secret Service tried to assassinate Trump, Charlie Kirk was murdered by the FBI and vapor trails behind jet planes are actually biological weapons being deployed by a shadowy cabal of dark politicians. It's all or nothing
All this.

This study asked about tax cuts and climate change, not actual conspiracy theories. If you actually believe what you claim to believe, this study would have found you to believe conspiracy theories.

Conspiracies are likely to happen, but everything that happens is likely not a conspiracy,

Actually, we're doing conspiracy-theory-theory, here. Anything to add?
Yeah , due to your lack of credibility on this topic, you should see your way out.

I don't buy the OP. I don't think conservatives are inherently more likely to believe in CT's.
Is that credible or not?

Whether or not that statement is accurate has no bearing on the credibility of the statement when it comes from you.
So no the statement has no credibility because the author has no credibility.

In other words, conservatives are more open minded and less likely to eat a plate of shite when it’s placed in front of them.

Conservative conspiracy theories are1,350 times more likely to be true than liberal conspiracy theories.
Okay, I just pulled that number out of my arse, but it’s likely true.

tCabal. Yep.

I don't think that's true. I think there are different standards for endorsing information in the different infomation networks of trusted sources. I think the RW media ecosystem is more PT-Barnum like (he sewed the top half of a monkey to the back half of a fish one time and sold admission to his museum for people to see the "Fiji Mermaid" and when people called him on it, he basically justified it (paraphrasing) as "you were entertained and didn't really care if it was real in the first place"). I think the ecosystem is a bit like that now.

To be clear, not ALL "conservatives" are insane. You can find rational people, even out on the far edge of the Far Right. In that case, however, it IS rare. (e.g. Godfather, BBonds and Wolfhound, among a few others)

Because? Maybe it’s that democrats don’t believe in anything that’s not a headline from their spokesperson

Using the term “conspiracy theories” discredits the whole claim. Labeling skepticism a “conspiracy theory” is a rhetorical tool to dismiss, discredit, and de-legitimize a viewpoint, rather than engaging with its substance.
