Earth is essentially a rock (joined later by other rocks) that's been spinning for billions of years. It has always been slowing down

Tidal forces between the earth and moon cause the earths rotation to slow.

The moon has already become almost 100% tidally lock with the earth which is why we only see one the same side.

Eventually the moon and earth will tidally. Of course that wont happen until about 40 to 50 billion years from now. Long after the sun has burned out(7.5 billion years)

All that said. Yes days are getting longer at the rate of a couple thousandths of a second every 100 years.

liars.

Like the swallows returning to San Juan Capistrano… it’s peak summer, so here come the hyperbolic “climate change” stories. Every year. As predictable as a broken clock.

August will be especially good this year as it’s an election year.

This is correct.

Because windmills are affecting how wind travels, and actually slowing the rotation of the earth

Hah. If the days are getting longer, why is it getting darker ever so slightly earlier each night? We go walking every night, and several weeks ago, it was completely light at 8:30 pm Now, at 8:20ish, it's sort of dusky. Means the days are actually getting shorter. Right?

Any explanation for why NASA would push this narrative? Somehow affects their funding in a positive way?

It is connected to budget. The public lost interest in space exploration decades ago and NASA's funding has lost priority. They thought the climate change panic would lead to a public demand for more funding to fix it.

Its true. I’ve done the math. By this time next year days will only be a few minutes long! OMG!!

Tilt of the earth causes this thing every year called seasons

For example. Every year in the northern hemisphere dec 21 is the shortest day while in the southern hemisphere it’s the longest

Can't forget about the time you tree huggers called global warming or further back when they talked about global cooling and next ice age was going to happen.

Logically if a day grew every so slightly longer then over a course of a year both nighttime and daytime would grow the same?

Who caused the climate change that caused the ice age or caused Pangea to split?

If they believe in science and the scientific age of the earth, they should believe the earth is in a constant state of change and sometimes Mother Nature is just a bitch.

Does climate change cause longer days?

The logic is the melting ice at the poles is redistributing the mass of the earth closer to the equator.

The equation of the moment of inertia for a sphere is I = (2/3)MR^2. As R gets bigger so does I.

A more intuitive example is an example of an ice skater. When her arms are extended (larger R), she spins slower. When her arms are pulled into her body (smaller R), she spins faster.

The logic is sound.

The premise is flawed. Man is not causing the ice on the poles to melt. If the ice is melting at the poles there is nothing we can do. We just have to adapt.

Another fundamental flaw in the premise of climate change is the impact that CO2 has on global temperature. It is negligible.

The reason "scientists" focus on CO2 is due to the fact that they see money can be made off of the use of O&G. CO2 is a byproduct of O&G usage.

You sir get a thumbs up. This is the correct answer. If the earth's rotation slows down and a day gets longer, than that will mean an increase of time on both the night and day cycle of each day. So proportionately the increase in sunlight (day time) will be equally met by an increase of no sunlight (night time).

More climate alarmist bullshite.

They were right.

Best man at my wedding is an atmospheric scientist for NASA, is author or co-author on more than 2 dozen studies. Every cent of which is government funded.

I certainly don’t agree with it,

Because Scientist, guess, assume, read Science Digest and generally pull predictions like this out of of their butts. Overall, they don't have a phucking clue what the weather will be like next Thursday. Climate Change is number 4 on my list of Scams facing America and the World, following Covid, Ukraine, Global Warming and Green Energy.
