Every one of these news outlets spent the last two decades destroying their own credibility. I have zero confidence they even know what their job is anymore. I don't give a shite if they cover the pentagon, or anything else for that matter, they can all get fricked.

The MSM is not an honest news agency. They are mostly a Dem talking point outlet. They have lied about almost everything MAGA and conservative.
Compare their cowardly coverage of the left to their outrage of all things conservative.
They never questioned the Hunter Biden stuff: from his painting to his "deals" for the Big Guy. Yet the labeled the present president as a rapist, a criminal, a NAZI and whatever they could invent.
How much did their "investigative reporters" dig into a the crimes of the Biden's, FBI corruption, or the DC kangaroo J6 court?

Any "news" outlet that honestly covered the Biden's administration has a reason to complain.

The game changed when Obama allowed them to go from being news organizations to entertainment companies.

That's not what is happening. The media can report whatever they want. They just are not being assisted, as they shouldn't be.

It's not the government's responsibility to help the media do its job. Perhaps they need to hire real reporters, rather than morons who just attend press conferences and rewrite press releases, and get used by leakers to push narratives.

No you only have a problem with it now.

But how about 10 months ago when Biden was the fittest he’s ever been?

Yeah you people are just disingenuous fricks.

Did you miss the other long thread? They asked for badges and no more wandering.

Dont fall for this. They have set up Pentagon briefings for credentialed Pentagon reporters.

Not the alphabets wondering around Vindman types looking to fry with high unamed sources for politics.

And half of the folks singing the blues about this new requirement passed through their halls in some capacity.

I think the MSM is just miffed that they have to check with the Pentagon to see if what they're reporting is ok first. I voted for this. About time the leaking of sensitive information is stopped.

Can you define their job, and give examples of how this job is carried out?

When it comes to sensitive military or intelligence information, absolutely. Do you feel the same way with college/NFL football coaches barring the media from their practices then holding a press conference to blow smoke up everyone's asses? It's strategic

Anybody have a link to the actual DoD document setting forth the new policy? I can’t find it in any of the articles reporting on it. Only what some reporter wants to tell me is in it.

The Pentagon is basically a Military Installation and Military Installations require a level of Security Clearance. If all the Media has to do to maintain their ability to do their job at the Pentagon is to follow the new Security Guidelines being put in place then they should do it and do it without pause.

So to be clear, no one is preventing the media from doing their job except themselves....and as already explained access to the Pentagon is a privilege and not a right. Either get in line or stay the frick out. It's not that hard.
ps...frick 'em (the media twat waffles) ) and feed 'em beans.

Many years ago, there were some protests against the Mega-Corp I worked for. We were instructed to not interact with any of the protestors, and if we got a call from a news agency (or anyone else), that we make no comment - simply give them the number of Corporate Communications.

And I'm certain that if I violated that in any serious or even semi-serious manner, I'd be fired that day. Random employees are not in a position to represent the company (or the government). Outside of work, they can express their opinions about something corp-related, but they may also need to face consequences if Corp doesn't like it. If it involves illegal acts of the Corp, that's where the whistleblower regs come into play.

The legacy media is in a freefall because the American people are waking up to the realization that the MSM needs us. We do not need them in any capacity.

Been trying to tell everyone that OAN actually exists. Been watching them since 2020.

Still, two thirds of the board seems unwilling to turn off NeoCon Faux News. It is what it is, I guess.

Just imagine the horror of having to wear an ID badge and not be able to roam freely and unescorted around the fricking Pentagon.

That right there tells you that the press had their leakers all throughout the Pentagon and are PISSED that Hegseth caught on and is closing the window.

Alright

you need to state specifically what your problem is with the new requirements instead of just throwing abstract or patently false statements out there.
