I am 61 . Never been on a cruise and rarely go on a vacation. Live in a 500k house that I built in 2010. I plan on working until the day I just physically can’t . I lost my youngest child but still have two . So I plan on leaving them plenty. Sounds like you are just poking the bear . There is plenty of good boomers out here

I see each one just flowing into another based on the circumstances that they grew up in.
I looked at our boomer group and realized the last years of the boomers is very different from the first part. I'm in the first part, 1948. I spent my early driving years in muscle cars. The last of the boomers got wore out muscle cars or cars with very low h.p. Hell pevetodead, I could start some shite just within the boomers. Then I could be an a-hole too.
So yeah, by following in my father's footsteps, a WWII veteran, I ruined the whole fricking world. Just remember that when you go somewhere and are driving on the paved roads I paid for. They were gravel when I started driving. I inherited 2 lane highways. I bought interstates.
There are a few more improvements My taxes bought and paid for. The list of improvements is long.
And remember, that inheritance? Your gov't took half of it to buy things for you.
And let's talk about S.S. The gov't still run by the greatest generation took that too.
But I'll quit now. Just go ahead and blame me, a 3 vacation/yr., $40k house when I was 30, I'd have done it sooner but I was drafted for 2 years, leaving a couple of million to my kids member of the so called "boomer generation". Giving a frick what you think is another fault you can pin on me.

A quick note about how this generational envy came about - one of the pieces of evidence Scott Galloway (NYU professor and hero to millennials) uses to prove how selfish boomers are is a poll that showed (something like) 35% of children of boomers are expecting to inherit something from their parents but only 25% of boomer's are planning to leave something to their kids. That discrepancy is proof that boomers are all about spending what they have before it can be passed down. Nobody bothered to think, "hmm, maybe boomers have more than one kid on average, and so 35%/25% is perfectly consistent with each other."

Go get a job and make your own money. The government is not your nanny and after you hit 18 your parents are not responsible for taking care of you. If they want to blow their money, good for them.

Hippie and Yuppie Boomer subsets are themselves near diametrical opposites. Frankly, in terms of generalizations and stereotypes, I don't see many similarities between Millennials and Yuppies.
