I don’t have a problem with certain situations of working from home with the government.

I have a former coworker who was willing to take a pay cut to work from home in order to take care of their kids. All he would have needed was a laptop to be able to do his work (a lot of people have take home laptops).

Their boss said absolutely not and he quit. He has been begged a few times to come back become because they have yet to find someone who is as good.

He wasn’t making 100k a year, not even close and he was willing to even make less money.

If these work from home people are willing to take pay cuts in order to stay employed I’m ok with that.

Don’t agree with that. I’ve WFH for 11 years for the same company. It works because I travel for a living and I’m center of the state. I’m in office in front of a computer no less than 35+ hours a week unless I’m traveling.

If I get a directive from my boss to move to HQ, I’m either moving or looking for another job, not making a TikTok bitching about it.

Plenty of people effectively work from home.

She’s worried about the f*cking parents???

Teleworking was never meant to replace childcare. Every telework arrangement I’ve ever heard of specifically stated that you were not to view telework as the opportunity to take care of your kids while you are supposed to be working. In fact, at my former employer, you had to sign a statement acknowledging that fact. Other arrangements had to be made to take care of your brats just as though you were in the office.

Of course, we know that was all a f*cking lie, and that these people were taking care of their kids when they should’ve been doing their f*cking jobs.

If you're "working" remote, you should already have child care taken care of. If you are WFH and don't have childcare you aren't working.

My group works from home. My co-workers with kids are absolutely more focused on their kids vs work. They've gotten so comfortable with the kids interrupting during our meetings, spouses talking in the background during meetings, can't rely on them in the afternoons due to them picking up their kids at school, etc. It has resulted in subpar work.

I wouldn't blame my company for rescinding WFH based on their behavior. I'd probably find another job though.

I feel for the parents?

Are they parenting when they should be working?

We had to figure that out on our own. What kind of trickery is this?

So she doesn’t understand how executive orders work and has them confused with laws passed by Congress. Yes, a new president can rescind and old executive order by issuing a new one. That’s the nature of executive orders and why they are both bad and good.
