DeWine is a Neocon Globohomo. This is treason. If you live in a lower middle class town in Ohio you are absolutely backed into a corner. Protect what’s yours.

Then tell the locals to stop feeling sorry for themselves, stop drowning your sorrows in opiates and the like and go get the jobs....or they could just bitch about it.

Seemed like this town was dying way before any immigrants were moved in. Population in 2020 was only around 2/3 of what it was in 1980.

Because we shipped our manufacturing overseas to make a handful of people rich. And then the Sacklers made OxyContin specifically targeted at rural white because they knew no one would care about their fate.

Maybe we should fix those issues before we import people from arguably the most savage place on earth

Someone posted here a few days ago that he has some financial interest in Haiti. Perhaps a foundation there?

He has been going to Haiti for years. He built a school there. The school has since closed due to gang violence.

These are the same Rinos that moved our manufacturing overseas because of cheap labor. Now that the heat is on to start manufacturing more here, they're bringing in cheap labor. He's the paid political fist of the people that fund him.

It’s truly a strange situation.

MAGA needs the GOPe, but outside of social issues the GOPe have far more in common with the Clinton/Obama wing of the DNC at this point, hence the Bush/McCain/Romney wing openly supporting Harris this go around.

I mean they’d been doing it behind the scenes since 2016 but it’s now an open split and I wonder whether the party doesn’t actually permanently fissure if Trump wins and maintains a hold on the leadership.

I suspect many of them are only sticking around because they think Trump will die or lose and they want to be there to regain control over “their” party.

Personally I used to call them RINOs (Republican in name only), but I’m not sure that’s entirely fair. Until Trump nearly everyone in DC and at the party leadership level were what they were. It’s only since the tea party then the Trump revolution that there was any serious effort to reflect the GOP base at the candidate level.

While I identify with MAGA, we need to just accept them, fight it out at the primary level and stop pushing them out of the coalition for being what they are: social republicans and fiscal democrats who like war and open borders.

I’d rather have their votes than hand them to the DNC which is the only other option.

We’re supposed to believe a horde of Haitians is a great thing for a small town.

If they were truly filling a lot of jobs then there wouldn’t per indeed.com be over 10,000 job openings there.

I don’t doubt some are working, but the vast majority can’t if they don’t speak English or have the needed skills.

The American citizenry is finding out little by little, just how much Government subsidization money is being passed out to illegal immigrants. Those trillion dollar 'Omnibus Bills' essentially keep the dirty secrets off the books and out of the hard working and inflation-stressed public's eyes. And the pressure off the Congresspeople who support it. But no for much longer, as it will become obvious that enablers like DeWine can no longer assert that 'the emperor does have clothes'.

The real question is what happens when the spending collapses. The consequences of that scenario will then form the 'government' that arises out of that calamitous scenario. The only option is for an Authoritarian Government to take control, and if/when Government does...is it massive deportations and cutoffs of the subsidies which support access to lifegiving basic goods and services along DEI principles...or the Darwinian version? I well remember standing in line at Walmart and being limited to one loaf of bread and one toilet paper.

I don't put a lot of hope in Trump solving this massive problem; I think it's like the Titanic, as they saw the iceberg afar, but the physical dynamics wouldn't allow a turn to miss it.
