I'd hope they're well paid. We gave them $19billion in supplemental funding last year, and they will get another $19 billion this year plus whatever amount they shoved in the new funding bill.

I bet a lot are close. A lot of ICE agents, for years, have had to sign up for 2-3 details a year and its major OT. And that was in the slow times.

They can make a ton on overtime and per diem. And the big pay raises are within the first 5-6 years on the job. So a guy in his mid 30’s who has 6-7 years in the agency with overtime can get close to 200K. But he’ll have no life working all those hours.

Additionally they make 25% of their base salary in LEAP pay.
They don’t get hazard pay.
You’d be surprised how much they get hosed on OT, as some of it probably falls under LEAP.
The GS12s prolly make 120-140. They aren’t bringing in 200k.
