If I'm the powers that be, I plant a "false trump" early and push the narrative that trump can't win.
It'd be easy to sway the trump folks to another trump type candidate that was playing the game.
Gotta make this shite look fair for us retards.

He'll sell out once in office. He's the chosen opposition like Trump was. Talk a good game while increasing size of gov't. His first move will be to appoint Goldman Sachs people to his administration and bend over for Israel.

Worked when the media put up Trump once it became obvious than Rand Paul was a threat.

The GOPe apparatus wouldn't allow Trump in without Pence. The same happened to Reagan.
I think they thought pussygate would do Trump in and Pence & Paul Ryan in for the bait and switch.

Remind me of another plant named Sessions, he was all about the establishment when it counted, yet he masqueraded as a champion for conservatives. I will admit to being duped on that one.

Sessions wasn't a plant. He was the first US Senator on the Trump bandwagon. He was just a terrible fit as AG. He was in way over his head.

Sessions was in on all the meetings that Rod Rosenstein had enacting the plan to cover up SpyGate by installing Mueller & Barr.

Thus, my original question. How do we know what Desantis would really do? How do we know who he really is? They all want to be president. Maybe he is just crafty enough to position himself as the heir apparent. Maybe he is just another fraud.
And you want us to throw the other guy away; the guy who as been battling them all and has the scars to prove it; the guy who exposed them all. Really?
I don't think so.
I voted for Trump both times and would vote for him again if he were on the Republican ballot, BUT too many voters in this country (conservatives as well) just can't stand him personally, and unfortunately, that's how they vote. Most of them just won't vote, period.

It's not a decision to change. It's psychological.
The longer you are in an environment the more you gradually conform to the environment without making a conscious decision to do so.
One paper I read in the 60s was about propinquity.
If you were shipwrecked and stranded on an island with Mayor Beetlejuice you would be repulsed by her physical appearance. But after a couple of years she would look like a playboy model in your eyes.
Propinquity is also what makes long time married couples look the same in each other's eyes. When a 70 y.o. guy says his wife looks the same as 40 years ago he is not lying. In his eyes she has not changed.
Politicians want to fit in with their surroundings over time. There are very few committed revolutionaries who resist conformity unless they have a very strong support system outside of Wash D.C.

I agree it's a gamble. But I don't think there is a better one going forward, and he's probably the most promising one in a long time from a conservative perspective.
The only gamble is picking Trump over DeSantis as our nominee. Trump has no chance of winning whereas DeSantis is a slam-dunk.
If we run Trump, we'll LOSE 2024 and 2028. If we run DeSantis, we'll WIN 2024 and 2028.
It all comes down to if voters actually want to win or just want to temporarily feel good until things crash and burn in November of 2024.

Desantis is establishment, doing his best Trump impersonation.
Nice try. You're a lib who is trying to convince people on here not to vote DeSantis because you know he will win and you're scared. You want us to run Trump because you know he will lose and your side will win.
Every single lib I know wants Trump to be the nominee, and be involved in the mid-terms because they know it helps anger and mobilize their base and they know he won't win in 2024.
You're not fooling anyone.

My honest opinion is that I think Trump was needed but he set us back, by massive spending bills, raising the size of government, and setting up governing by Executive Order.
Sorry I'm late in responding, but man you're about 2-4 Presidents late in this criticism.
quote:You've got to be kidding me with this? At this point anyone who doesn't see this (thanks to DJT) is dumb as a box of rocks, willfully ignorant or covering for the establishment.
You have no idea how corrupt this country is or to what lengths they will go to gain power.
quote:There's only one Savior, but politically speaking I just don't see anyone with the balls (and financial ability/stomach to weather the onslaught) that Trump has.
I just see so many people waiting on/distracted by "Trump the savior" and I don't think that's going to happen.
Color me skeptical at the moment with Desantis.

Trump wined and dined Zuckerberg for God's sake. Sorry, but DeSantis has already done more to counter Big Tech than Trump did, and failing to directly confront them was one of the biggest errors of his Presidency.

Shh! The libs on here masquerading as conservatives will down-vote you. They're trying to convince us to choose Trump over DeSantis because they are scared shiteless of DeSantis and know he'll win and Trump won't.
