Get hit by a car, and LEOs are being dramatic, but get pepper-sprayed on Jan 6th, and they were heroes who nearly died in the line of duty. LOL

I just think that he was trigger happy, probably due to some lingering PTSD from the dragging incident. It is entirely understandable, and it does not make him a bad person

It doesn't make it a bad kill either.

Not necessarily, no. It is just one data point.

Just that the intent of the driver was a primary focus of the press conference. That’s all I was saying.

It was relevant to the govt narrative before they knew all the video existed.

There’s a lot more discussion regarding the big picture, outside of just pure law enforcement protocols related to moving vehicles.

ok. that's a lot of words that dont really amount to much.

we dont know what her intent was. we'll never know what her intent was. and it doesnt MATTER what her intent was.

It matters to me, Sam.

I don’t want you getting killed by a cop at a traffic stop when you were not threatening his life, and then have Secretary Noem say you were trying to run him over.

Then Kristi Noem needs to read the Minnesota statute. What did she say? You have a citation to her exact quote?

One way to determine exactly where two parties are in disagreement is to look at a simplified analogy and determine whether there is any disagreement there. If not, you add additional facts and/or complications until you find the actual point of disagreement. This makes it FAR easier to analyzie the REAL point of disagreement, rather than just shouting at clouds about irrelevancies.

believe that it was a justified shooting.

But this shite about him being so terribly injured is ridiculous, and I have a really hard time believing it.

I've pissed blood after taking a strong hit to the torso. Kidneys are fickle things.

Good use of punctuation this time BTW! You still gotta work on “your” though…

You missed a comma.

This is just insanity. There ain't no way that guy got a scratch during the encounter unless he scratched it himself.

You sticking with the “he wasn’t touched” despite the video??? Bold move, counselor.

I saw the video showing the impact. I think saying he isn’t badly injured but also saying he was probably hurting the following day are both true statements. The man got bumped in the chest by a 2 ton vehicle. I’m sure he has a big arse bruise on his torso and probably hurting moving around for several days.

Doesn’t matter to the law.

Won’t happen to me. If a cop tells me to get out of my car that’s what I’m doing. I’m definitely not gunning it at or near him.

Its very possible even with a slight bump this can happen. You have to remember he is getting hit as he is contorting his body to get out the way. Muscles in a weird state taking a hit can absolutely cause weird crap to happen. The body is a very weird thing.

Yeah, being run into by a 3500 pound SUV would never cause internal injuries.

How many of y'all have been hit by a car either on foot or a bicycle. I managed it twice when I was younger and it is not fun once the adrenaline wears off.

Ok this is a tangent that might be getting misconstrued.

Noem made a big deal about her intent in her initial press conference. Now all the arguments here are that intent doesn’t matter.

My issue was really with Noem, and not your arguments. So I could’ve started a different thread on Noem’s disinformation.

Similar to calling a bruise “Internal bleeding”…

If the shooting was by the book and justified, then we don’t need all of this BS. That’s all.

At a couple of mph, it is certainly POSSIBLE, but at that speed you are more likely to be seriously-annoyed than seriously-injured,
