I 100% agree. You can’t support the 2nd Amendment and then say “but don’t take a loaded gun and two extra mags” to a protest. Never mind how stupid it is to say a “loaded gun.” An unloaded gun is useless except as a paperweight. Of course it was fricking loaded. With the exception of my hunting rifles every gun I own stays loaded. I concealed carry everywhere I go. I would never go to one of these riots but if I did I guarantee you I would have a “loaded gun” on my person.

I’m not making a judgement on whether it was a righteous shoot or not until more info is known. I tend to think it was based on what I’ve seen and read. Just that it’s stupid to say what folks are saying about dude having a gun on him. It’s his constitutional right.

I certainly do not like that messaging at all unless Bessent is making the lying media (MSM) admit we do have rights to bear arms. However, Federal Agents are on a mission to take down criminals and I will respect their mission and stay clear.

These Feds are not taking down innocent civilians. But Johnathan Karl is right about civilians being able to bear arms.

That's a shite line that stomps on the 2A. It's the same line libs pushed about Rittenhouse. "Oh he showed up at a protest with a gun therefore he was looking to kill someone."

The difference is Rittenhouse didn't run up on Cops threatening them. He was minding his own business.

If you go to a protest armed, don’t resist arrest. That’s the important lesson many communists should be learning.

Also, blue states have made high capacity magazines illegal. So he was breaking one of the dems sacred gun laws.

Oh...

Treat every gun as if it were loaded
Never point your gun at something you aren't willing to destroy
Know your target and what is beyond your target
Practice practice practice
Buy good guns and keep them properly maintained
If you have kids, lock your guns up AND teach your kids (when they are old enough, of course) to respect the guns and how to use them.
Don't forcefully interject yourself into a law enforcement operation if you are carrying and expect good things to happen

its your legal right to carry open or concealed, and I am not against that even at a protest. but Ill say this im not making a move for a weapon or pretending to, should I encounter LEO, in fact Im leaving the scene as fast as possible.

Don’t interfere.

Just that simple.

Don’t.

Also doesn’t help that Pretti was a member of an activist group missioned to run interference against ICE.

He’d be alive if he:

1) Hadn’t resisted
2) Not been there

If you are legally carrying a gun and (intentionally or unintentionally) get near an ICE operation, an anonymous masked agent has the right to kill you with complete immunity. This administration has made that crystal clear.

While you continue to double down on this retarded take, I'll ask once again how you think this guy could have avoided this situation.

Just answer the question.

He didn't go to protest or to take video. He went to obstruct. And he brought a handgun with extra magazines. Not smart. I don't care who you are or what the cause is.

Rights, such as the 2A, or a privilege granted, such as a CCL, carry the burden of responsibility in your actions.

Just because you're a granted a driver's license doesn't mean you could drive like Mad Max on crack or a while impaired

How, pray tell, do you attempt to use said weapon without drawing it from your holster?

When interacting with law enforcement, you must notify them immediately that you are carrying. That is the law.

I don’t know if that’s true or not, but if so, you are correct.

And he was also within his rights to protest.

He was not within his rights to interfere in a police action.

And when he did that while armed, he reaped what he and others have sown.

I could tell Jon Karl, that if the “protestors” on J6 were armed, ALL would have been arrested for carrying. 2nd amendment has rules…it also depends on state and municipal laws, as well. I found that out while open carrying in NO on Mardi Gras weekend one year. Yes, Louisiana is an open carry state, but NO has an ordinance that you cannot open carry during parades, public gatherings, etc.
