He was a horrible pick.
Well, we already know that WaPo and Jennifer Rubin think he's a fantastic pick.

Do you really believe this? You're telling me you saw Shapiro, Buttigieg, and Beshear all out there auditioning for the last two weeks, but none of them really wanted it?

White flag. Completely conceding the South. Harris would have been much better suited to choose someone like Andy Beshear from Kentucky. As it is, I guess the Democrats are just biding their time until 2028.

It's an interesting pick, and somehow I think it shores up her candidacy. They did not want a jewish white male in the pick and needed someone older to buffer Kamala's foolishness. It's also clear that if they pull this election off, they are looking to push extremely hard left and go full socialist.
They've now satisfied having someone experienced and white, so they have someone that a good chunk of the base can relate to and won't anger the now large anti-semitic wing of their party. And they have someone who is lockstep with the hard left, pro immigration, globalist goals of the party.
The vote blue, no matter who, crowd won't care who he is and they won't have a civil war going on with the party.

It’s a pick that shows how far behind they really think they are.

He is not gay or Jewish.
I think they are going the Muslim pander route.
They could’ve gone with Mark Kelly had he not been involved with a Chinese vitamin pyramid scheme

The other question is.....how does the media portray Walz?
I bet he suddenly becomes an aw shucks, salt of the earth guy who is just trying to catch a few fish on Lake Fartknocker and create a great future for the kids and grandkids.

The guy changed the Minnesota state flag to look like Somalia’s. This guy is a fricking radical.
So was Obama. So was Biden. So is Kamala. Do you think it matters? Do you think anyone in the corporate media will say one word about this guy's leftist politics?

He’s definitely the opposite of Trump. Working class, Vietnam vet, school teacher, high school fb coach, midwestern. Maybe they were just trying to get someone the opposite of him?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they play up that Walz served for 24 yrs. and Trump got a deferment because of burn spurs, suckers and losers comment, etc.

Were they auditioning or putting their names in the hat for 2028?
Why not go campaign for her to get your name out there but if you have aspirations for 2028 why would you hitch your wagon to her?
Walz has no career to push forward. The others you mentioned do.

He's not running against Trump.
He's up against Vance, who also served. He also has "real world" (i.e, non-political/private sector) experience. In fact, Kamala is the only pure political (i.e., no private sector) animal on these tickets.

There is no way he was the pick over Mark Kelly and Shspiro.

Agree. I think Shapiro turned it down.

They fear they could lose MN. I guess they figure this will win them that battle.

Seems strange to go from one white haired white guy to another white haired white guy.

I think it was Shapiro's to turn down. The more he saw of her the more he didnt want to be a part of it. They also have inside polls you know. And if i were a betting man I'd bet they look a lot different than the polls they've shown to the public.

Been saying that since they put her in. Anyone on this ticket will be there because they are out of favor and expected to dirt nap their career to go away when they pivot next Presidential Election and try to say they've gotten rid of the nuts on the left.
They know this is lost. If they can get it close enough for the fraud to work that's what they'll do, but it won't be so they're setting up the contrast between the "Old Democrats" and the "New Democrats" of 2028.
