OK, you convinced me. When Hakeem resigns from Congress, I'll expect Lutnick to follow suit.
But see, that's not going to happen and you don't care. Fake outrage.
Trump has completed 1 year without losing any of the Cabinet the LEFT wants gone and they are seething to get somebody so they can run meme's and fundraise off of it.
There is no real outrage here.

Yeah, that these higher-ups in the British government would be dismissed simply for nonspecific ties to Epstein seems a reach.
Why? That's literally what is happening.

This is going to be one of those major hypocritical stance subjects, isn't it?

He said his family visited the island actually. Which is weird.

They will move onto the next shiny object. It doesn't matter what he does.

If Lutnick resigns it gives Trump/GOP political capital to turn it's sights on Temu Obama.

Normal people freak out when people on the sex registry list move into your neighborhood. That's a natural reaction for people that are morally oriented toward the good. I understand that forgiveness is in order for possible redemption however caution and a jaundiced eye is also in order.
Say you and I grew up together and I find out you are on the sex registry list. I say yeah we grew up together but I’ve barely seen the guy. Then someone says we were at a party together 10 years ago. So now I need to lose my job.

Lutnick is the kind of hubris that it what is grating a ton of people with the Epstein saga
He lied because he assumed it would never get out that he continued the relationship with Epstein

No, because you never took your family to a social luncheon with the guy to a Caribbean Island.

That is what would have mattered if the guy hadn't lied about it.
Now from a practical standpoint he's just going to be more trouble than he's worth going forward.

Correct.
If we are going to do the guilt by association thing there are a whole lot of people on both sides that need to resign.
But the dems wouldn't because that's not how they play. Even when they are indicted they don't resign.
Dems love to trick the GOP into doing the 'honorable' thing because of media smears. It always ends up taking Republican chess pieces off the board without affecting dems.

And lets not forget Temu Obama's fundraising solicitation TO EPSTEIN after he had been convicted of his sex offenses.
So let's not forget about it.
Clean your side and turn the sights on the other side.
You miss the point. The left cannot and will not be shamed. They will not bend or retreat. Period.
They count on the other side to play by the rules while they say "what rules?"
The only way to win this game ia by playing by their rules (i.e., no rules).

Correct, no dem is resigning. None.
It's hard to get one guy to resign for bringing his family for lunch to the island.
I think he should, but he won't. It's not illegal. Terrible decision I would never understand.
It's politicians we are talking about.

He didn’t do this for no reason:
quote:
Direct Contributions: Lutnick contributed over $10 million to Trump's re-election efforts, including $5 million to the pro-Trump super PAC "Make America Great Again Inc.".
Fundraising Events: He hosted a major fundraiser at his Bridgehampton home in August 2024, which raised roughly $15 million, with individual tickets costing up to $250,000.
Total Financial Impact: In addition to personal donations, his fundraising efforts for the 2024 cycle exceeded $75 million.

Lutnick didn’t break any laws, but he was foolish about how he handled questions on Epstein. In past interviews he went out of his way to boast he didn’t really know Epstein, and thought he was strange. I’m a Lutnick fan, but it is a bad look. He should have had a much more measured response considering their history. Guess he couldn’t help himself.
He will be fine. This admin does not cater to the media. Lutnick staying does not cost this admin votes.
This country is either run by the leaders we elect or the MSM.

Please. The fact Adam Schiff is still a member of Congress is a joke and a crime.
Dude played Russian Collusion to the bone all the while knowing the orgin of the information and that it was 100% verifiably false. And spoke to impeach a sitting US President on knowingly false evidence.
But I'm supposed to be outraged over a guy knowing someone longer than he said?

To play devil's advocate on this one, as I once again feel compelled to be "the tenth man", I can distance myself from someone and still "remain in contact".
The optic looks bad but could be literally a nothingburger.
"Hey Howard, how you been? How's the family? Big soiree this Saturday in Atlantic City if you're game. LMK."
"Hi Jeff, doing well, thanks. Pretty busy this weekend but I appreciate the invite. Take care, and stay in touch."
^^^ THAT ^^^ = "remained in contact". Literally nothing. Need to know the context to make an assessment of the communications and if they were nefarious. If there are indeed communications between them in that time frame that are sick and nefarious, burn Howard right along with the rest of them.
ETA: or just downvote me for wanting more context instead of acting like an irrational teenage girl and overreacting to a single paragraph posted on social media. Par for the course for this board lately.

As if the left has any integrity. They realized how bad they fricked up letting Franken resign. They've learned their lesson.
