The US Congress is needed to enact real reform that can last, but, we should know that the US Congress sees their job as simply getting re-elected, and, doing anything controversial like trying to enact Reform is very controversial and could cause them reelection.
So they are very content to allow the status quo to continue. They will be very wealthy if they stay in the System. If they try to change the system or fight the system, they would end up MUCH less wealthy.
What would you do in that situation? Do you want to be wealthy or poor? If you want to be rich, support the System. Do you have children? If you want them to be poor, then Fight the System.
It's as simple as that.
Nobody said that saving the USA would be as easy as one man working on his own. No chance that can make long lasting reform and a permanent change for the better.
Sorry to be pessimistic.
