Sorry but I read SEALs which usually delineates the standard teams….but considering you like to make up units I guess you wouldn’t have said “been putting DevGroup/SEAL Tm 6 etc….” as the subject of the sentence.
Considering that I have had the pleasure of operating in joint exercises with them I have NEVER heard the 160th SOAR referred as TF 160. In fact I have heard them referred to as Nightstalkers, Task Force Brown and most often at the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
But thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sometimes missions pop up and there isn’t enough time to get 160th assets to where they need to be. Or maybe they don’t have the assets necessary for the mission. Could be lots of things.

They may try but having a Trident and not getting deployed in a combat role over that period of time is really hard to defend. That means they selected him rather than guys that have been battle tested. I would submit it would be virtually impossible to make flag rank as a Marine Combat Arms officer without have a combat action ribbon right now.
Edit: then again I have been out a while so maybe wokism has infected the crayon eating community as well…..but I doubt it.

Since I only fricking live with them, cook for them, and raised one of them I suppose when I hear them refer to themselves as TF160 I should assume they are making shite up.
The ability to get their assets anywhere in the world in less the 24 hours from Ft. Campbell is reality. I’ve seen it. Hell, I’ve fed my son and his guys and their families off the tailgate of my pick up at 0230 while they were waiting on the C-17s to haul them to be on sight. I’ve seen them get “the text” and be in fricking Africa less than 20 hours later.
The decision to use them less and lesser trained units more isn’t about availability it’s about rerouting dollars to other BS which in part got this dude fired.
