I know 2 SEALS drowned in the Adriatic last year. After action report said that inadequate training was a factor in their deaths
This would make much more sense considering that his CO NavSpecWar is not a combatant commander but an administrative command that has purview over training (not detailing USA Spec war units).

The simple layman’s way of saying this would be that the individual services through commands like Navy Special Warfare Command, Marine Special Operations Command, Army and Air Force special operations commands…..have administrative control of their respective special warfare units. Meaning they are responsible for the training, manning and funding of those units.
SOCOM(Special Operations Command) has operational control of most Special units. JSOC(Joint Special Operations Command) has operational control over the ninjas like Seal Team Six, Delta Force and a few other units. Maybe the 160th Nightstalkers but I’m not really sure about that. They’re probably temporarily put under JSOC or SOCOM depending on the mission if I had to guess. Operational control means actually sending these guys on missions or deploying into combat zones.
That’s for all the normal people here who don’t understand what all this dick measuring is about.

Sands looking like Robert Meachum who oddly enough played a navy man in the tv adaptation of winds of war.

Winner, winner Chicken dinner. And there was no dick measuring going on. Just somebody that doesn’t really know what he is talking about arguing with somebody that does.

Not sure if I'd brag about being an infantry officer. 95% of infantry officers I've met were absolute retards.

Yep, sort a prerequisite to compete and earn the suck.

Marine officers of whatever speciality seem to be a couple steps above Army officers, on average of course, in my experience. I served in the army as well but it was national guard so maybe my opinion is skewed. That goes for the Navy and Air Force as well unless you include jobs like pilots, doctors or lawyers. But for the most part those are skill positions vs leadership positions until you get to field grade.

Considering that I have had the pleasure of operating in joint exercises with them I have NEVER heard the 160th SOAR referred as TF 160. In fact I have heard them referred to as Nightstalkers, Task Force Brown and most often at the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
I know this is an old pissing match, but I wanted to pass along to you the contact number of the regiment (270-798-1605) and if you would let them know they fricked up my son's 500 safe hours flying plaque once again by putting TF160 on it as unit indication, I would appreciate it.
This is the 5th time they have messed up his plaque by putting the wrong unit designation on it. Since you are way more in tune with what goes on in the unit than I or even my son, I am hoping you can get this grievous error corrected before he gets his next one.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

He was appointed on July 26, 2024 by Biden.
As far as the female admiral, that goes without saying.

The SEAL commander was booted because his boys were national security threats because they're absolutely incapable of keeping their traps shut.
CAG...never hear a word. Green Berets, Raiders, Rangers, the list goes on....never hear a word.
Anytime you have SEALs on an op they spend half the mission working on a book &/or movie script to explain everything they did.
