Read his book "The Art of the Deal". He never intended to take Greenland by force. The man wrote a book about his deal-making strategy yet everyone is constantly surprised and confused. He laid it all out in 1987. He is amazing to watch.

His antagonistic bombastic verbal approach has some sort of psychological effect on the narcissistic leftist intelligentsia and base that I’m now convinced they’ll never figure it out.

It’s like watching a nature documentary where a predator hypnotizes its prey before pouncing.

Art of the deal. Ask for more than you know you’ll get(for now) then let them think they stood their ground. Walk away with what you wanted in the first place, letting them think they won.

This.

Of course the simpletons who beginning in 2016, managed to convince themselves he is “Hitler”, will never be talked off their ledge….mainly because they don’t want to be.

They NEED him to be “Hitler” and they NEED to feel in some way, he suffered a defeat.

Well it sounds tough and badass to the core supporters.

And it sounds like TACO to the non-supporters.

Everyone in politics has read the Art of the Deal by now.

The question is whether any of it was necessary. I think it could have all been discussed without threats. But that doesn’t get the clicks. He’s the reality TV president after all.

Trump got what he wanted in Greenland I believe.

Let’s see what happens with Iran.

Trump has been doing this all his life. Wrote The Art of the Deal nearly 40 years ago, but the TDS 'tards have convinced themselves he's JUST a 'reality TV show host', and little more.

Muh TACO... Muh OMB... Muh lawless...

He is the mortal enemy of the globalists and establishment now. They're never going to say publicly he did a good job on anything.

Read "Art of the Deal", friend. It's all in there, but people still get surprised when Trump almost always gets exactly what he wants.

You set the stage with outlandish and unrealistic expectations and demands. And then when you sit down to negotiate, your opposite party thinks they're making a hell of a deal by getting you to meet them halfway... while all along, your intent was to meet at that "halfway point", which was the actual targeted goal.

As much as people love to hate on him for myriad reasons, some of them actually justified, it's inarguble that Trump is one of the best and ballsy'est negotiators in American History. He always holds the right cards when he's playing a hand.

The TACO thing is such a pathetic meme. If that's the best they can do, I'll take it.

This is a long used method to settle cases. Always start with an offer you know the opposing party will not accept. Usually you can get them to meet you in the middle.

It's honestly amazing it still works, he does it so often. Granted, sometimes I think it's 6 months of effort for very, very modest returns (on our part) but nonetheless, I'm surprised they still play the game instead of saying "Trump, we know how this goes, let's fast forward to the part where you don't get the big thing you're talking about and we make some minor concessions and you claim massive victory."

This “tactic” only works if you have an extreme amount of leverage. For example, if you’re a billionaire hashing out a contract with a small construction company.

The guy isn’t a genius negotiator, he just only does deals with much smaller entities. A good example is he can’t really get any deal out of Russia because it’s not nearly as one sided from a leverage standpoint.

I will say, convincing everyone that coming up incredibly short of the initial ask of the deal, was part of the plan all along was genius.

SIGN language.

Shame, Insults, Guilt, and the Need to be right.

They will use shaming language.
They will insult you
They will guilt you
All for the need to be right.

trump asks for something outrageous, then settles for something less so. he does this all the time. he literally wrote a book describing how this is his negotiation strategy. i dont think anyone really cares what europeans say

Trump says he wants Greenland
Western Europe gets upset
Trump pushes it
Europeans say they will fight with the military
Trump reminds everyone of NATO neglect

Europe now gives us Greenland, or starts paying for NATO
