Neither (the Onion nor the Bee) has been consistently funny in a long time
The Bee was far, far funnier before Adam Ford sold it to the Dillon brothers in 2018.

The Bee used to poke fun at everyone. Under the Dillons, it has become a reliable cog in the Trump machine, losing half (of more) of its opportunities to be funny.

If anything, he has put them under a microscope.

Funny how the "Groomer" narrative is now owned by MAGA

Not even remotely.

It is still part of the Democrat platform to put porn in school libraries and teach 8-year-olds about sex.

And they are still the ones who voted Biden president, knowing what he did with his daughter and how he could not keep his hands off other people's children.

This is just a bit of political gamesmanship about releasing the Epstein files, which the Democrats also had 4 years to do and chose not to.

The Onion, like most leftist comedy things, lost it when the process became

"How can we make this political point"

"Oh, and then once we settle on it, let's try and make it amusing."

You are correct.

And the Bee hit the same roadblock when it became a purely Right-Wing publication after the Dillon purchase.

Why is the Bee still amusing and the Onion just so sad?

So why did Dims do nothing when they had control? Maybe because their demented leader was a child sniffer that showered with his daughter.

Pelosi marched in the Man/Boy love parade.

Both are amusing at times, and both miss as often as they hit.

From the top rope, falls, gets leg trapped in the rope, awkwardly continues the fall, and hits face on the floor.

The Onion was first published 28 years before the first Babylon Bee.

Weren't they on the brink of shutting down and then recently rescued? I used to hit their site daily for a quick chuckle, but they became unfunny long ago.

I think they followed the pattern of many left-leaning people in that they allowed themselves to get to a space where they couldn't like/enjoy people with whom they did not share political views. So the humor became jaded and dark.

It's sarcasm as everybody knows Trump doesn't poll well with progressive democrats.
