Trump has the best instincts of any president in history and he is not "winging" it. He has advisers.

Who? The interns who created that abortion of a chart which was obviously false?

Democrats just stay constantly mad and upset because they live miserable lives. I fully support Trump and hope for the best for our Nation. People at the top are fine with the Status Quo because they are at the top. For people who claim that they support the best interest of the working man. They sure are intent in standing in the way of providing a better life the average hard working American.

I voted for him knowing this was a possibility. It doesn't bother me that he's following through on it. I think we needed to be a little more surgical with it though. That's probably my biggest WTF about all of this. We need certain sectors of our economy produced domestically for national security reasons. I don't care about apparel and stress relievers being produced overseas. My hope is that all of us are prepared to absorb higher costs because they are already here in our industry and they're coming to your businesses and homes soon. My concern is that the consumers are going to freak out because times are already tight. I'm also concerned about the fallout from higher business costs. Your bonuses being cut, hiring slowing down, expansion plans being shelved and how things like that can trickle down. I'm not sure how long we holdout if this becomes protracted. I'm not sure we can defeat the world if the world gets together to take us on. I wouldn't worry about any one country but the world is another beast.

There are lots of soft Trump voters who don't like him much at all but hate the left far more.

Laura Loomer is one of his advisors. That's AOC level advice.

You're a fricking robot repeating the same stupid shite in every thread. Give it a rest, you loser.

No, but it's becoming very clear we may not get a Vance presidency if economic instability continues, and the price increases from tariffs haven't even materialized yet.

Come talk to me in late fall 2025 and see how things are, I bet you will have a different opinion..

2 trillion deficits
He's pretty much at $2T deficits. The FY 2025 deficit is already projected to reach $1.9 T ( https://bipartisanpolicy.org/blog/visualizing-cbos-budget-and-economic-outlook-2025/#:~:text=The%20deficit%20is%20projected%20to,approximately%206%25%20of%20GDP).). Calendar 2025 borrowing is significantly higher than last year. Intentionally slowing the economy and slashing the IRS will not help the situation--the only question is how much taxes collected in the form of tariffs will offset the loss in other revenue. Layer onto that a planned $4.5T in tax cuts over ten years to be offset by only $2T in spending cuts. And to cut $2T in spending, he'll have to substantially cut social security, medicare/aid, and/or defense, so you judge the likelihood of that.

The trade/tarrif issue makes me nervous, but it's the same kind of nervous anticipation I feel before I play golf with money on the line. All I want to do is WIN and you can't win if you don't even play the game.

No I don’t regret a single fricking thing with Trump. The stock market doesn’t affect me for the time being and I have enough common sense (unlike you) knowing that government has been stealing and ripping us off for decades. Yea, I am not worried about 401 which I won’t touch for another 8-10 years
This change had to happen. In fact, it should have happened decades ago

So what do you consider temporary for a stock market dip? - 6 months, a year, 5 years? I’m not quite retired but if you’re close to that age, I think you’re screwed.
I don’t disagree with shifting away from a global supply chain. But like anything Trump touches, he’s trying to bully his way like he did as a questionably successful real estate developer. Just my thoughts.

Can you tell me how the Smoot-Hawley tariffs fixed the economy in the long term during the Great Depression?

There aren’t any Trump voters melting. It’s lefties trying to use the old “I voted for Trump, but …” bullshite.

Seems like it, doesn't it?
I think Trump and his people actually do have a policy or agenda -- one is to be Bull in a Chyna Shop and rattle all previous policy precedent without an iota of finesse. Is it really necessary to wreck things that just require tweaking? The whole Canada + Greenland noise was about conditioning us for a coming North American union of sorts. Another is leading the US to a technocracy.
And what of the wrongs and injustices of the 2020 business demolitions, Covid Hoax, and subsequent vax injuries? The knee-bending to the WEF agenda? Is this President and his DoJ going to address those elephants in the room?
I think Trump's admin policies thus far are decidedly pro-globalist, pro-authoritarian, pro-AI, and pro-Israel interests. The EOs are out of hand. The focus on DOGE's audit? They say USAID and its corruption is being dismantled; but are there names and prosecutions forthcoming?
Sure, DOGE might be considered "MAGA" by allegedly saving the citizenry hundreds of billions, but if those savings are merely reallocated for a $500 billion AI Data Center (for what benefit?) then who is really benefiting?

I don't regret voting for Trump because he's much better than the alternative. As far as the tariffs go, I'm hoping it forces places that serve crappy imported seafood like Cork’s and their Vietnamese catfish, to start serving domestic.
