That would be a dumb move by Russia.

They have their hands full and at best are at a stalemate. Not sure they could handle the US and Poles (at a minimum).

I believe you misunderstood. The US makes the war happen.

I agree. The United States empire is in decay.

Start dumber wars
Elect dumber leaders
Infatuation with sexuality
Create and wreck a fiat monetary system
Silence opposition

I'm not saying we are, but how can you say that we definitively aren't? There are some troubling economic signs still lingering around.

I mean it makes some sense, but if their goal is more power, then why would they start a war with a nuclear armed Russia? No one would have any power then so tell me how this would benefit the US?

He better hope he's wrong. We all better hope he's wrong.

Open war between Russia and the US would rapidly lead to mutually assured destruction. War against Nuclear nations isn't like fighting the goat fricking daesh in the burning sands of the middle east. It's going to be all out thermonuclear holocaust.

Even if not nuclear, one well placed EMP in L.A. and another in NYC would effectively bring the US to its knees with a week.

GDP is still expanding.

The last time we were in a recession was in 2020, Trump's last year. No one seems to want to admit that we WERE in a recession under Trump, but we are no longer in a recession under Biden.

Certainly there are troubling economic signs which I believe revolve mainly around the inability/unwillingness to balance the budget during good times, and thereby increase the federal debt ever year.

Mostly what people are complaining about is the medicine for the inflation cause by the policies of Trump AND Biden - namely interest rates.

The Fed rate is currently 5.5%. The average for the Fed rate over the last 60 years or so is 6.1%. People got addicted to the super low rates enacted after the housing market crash of 2008-09. We are only just now at normal rates.

The inflation rate is currently 3.2%. The average rate of inflation for the last 60 years or so is 3.7%.

The unemployment rate is currently 3.5%. The average unemployment rate for the last 60 years or so is 5.9%.

People are freaking out over numbers that are well within normal parameters.

This is the dumbest thing I ever heard. You really think living under Russian rule or influence would be better than our current situation . Get wrecked commie.

GDP is a lagging indicator. We won't know what this month or quarter is for a while.

My God. You're such a hack. Can't you just have an honest discussion? Was there something that happened during 2020 that caused that recession? I can't quite recall.

No. People are "freaking out" because they're experiencing things in real time. I can tell you that my anecdotal experience right now is that I have never in my career been this slow at work, and that includes the Great Recession and COVID. Now that doesn't mean recession, but in my line of business it does mean big money at least sitting on the sidelines for the time being waiting to see what happens.

When inflation is boat racing GDP what does that mean? Ill hang up and listen.

Also, the numbers that the Obiden admin is putting out are laughable. They have changed (moved the goal posts) the way they report on inflation. The real number is way worse. To top it all off is that they always release these numbers and then revise them worse a month or two later. The MSM does not cover those revisions ever
