I know Iran falling benefits us. But I have to say, the riots in these video remind me of democrats, antifa, purple and green haired liberals.

You need to watch some more videos then, because those clowns don’t have the balls to do what the Iranian people are doing

It's where they get their inspiration from, using vehicles as weapons of terrorism is straight out of their playbook.

This might be the bravest bunch of ordinary people in world history. They are literally out in the streets by the MILLIONS. And they have no guns. The regime has guns, but the people aren’t leaving.

Looks like we’re going to get involved.

I’ve been against doing this, but honestly if Trump wants to go all out and destroy all the authoritarian regimes that have been a pain in our arse for decades (Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, etc) then frick it. Let’s get it over with. If it’s successful and we get long term peace we probably save money long term

In regards to this here, last night I read that his wife and kids were waiting for him at the airport when they got a call from the Russians saying they're not welcome in Russia. Interesting that they're now saying he wants to flee to Iraq.

A democratic, secular Iran would be a world power

World power? No.

Regional Middle East power? Yes

To be a world power requires a very developed nation with population in the 9 figures, a lot of money and resources, and enough world leverage to build a powerful military, navy and nuclear arsenal without interference. Even a free Iran I doubt we let that happen.

You don't want to get involved in someone else's civil war.

We just did it in Venezuela, and it seems to have worked out well. Do similar in Iran - in and out with special forces to stop a government offensive. Do that and the word will spread like wildfire that this time the regime is dying.

This can happen anywhere if people have had enough. Even without guns. The people are the many, the rulers the few. The powerful only have power if the many allow them to. Numbers win everytime

You quoted something that I had quoted and to which I disagreed. As I wrote in my post, one of the requisites for wealth creation, the rule of law, has been missing in Iran since Iran was invented. Without that, they cannot be a first rate economic power.

That is what sho nuff Iranians are telling me. That is all. None of them trust PBD in the least. FWIW, I never met an Iranian expat who votes Democrat.

If they strike I'll bet they start going after the Generals personal homes.

They’re probably contacting the generals and other senior leaders now and letting them know we know where they are. Apparently this was done after we took out their nuke program. They have a choice - fight or be wiped out. They’ll realize they have no way out, and hopefully the US doesn’t need to fire a shot.

A tad different. The Iranians actually are living under tyranny.

A strike in the oil industry was the final nail in the coffin IIRC. Hopefully it’s the same for the mullahs.

You'll need more than some SEALS or Delta Force to deal with what's coming....or even some air cover in the cities.

Just remember,if you get involved, then you become a participant. You don't get to walk away without consequence. This isn't our responsibility.

You missed my point, which was that a symbolic boots-on-the-ground raid by the USA would send a shock wave through Iran and the Iranian people would be emboldened by it.

ETA: I want us to get involved. We have big stakes in Iran. It’s one of the main reasons we are supporting Ukraine.
