Trump wants a deal so that he can beat Obama and Biden over the head with his deal making ability. Your assumption is that the Mullahs will honor any deal they make. If they do, it will be the first time. In the end , Trump will hit a brick wall of resistance and he’ll give up and pull the forces out.

quote:Interesting thoughts. I agree with most of that. If him retiring meant the end of his beggar routine and influence peddling and that somehow solved his legal problems, great.
Netanyahu owns enough of Congress that to get anything done, he must be appeased. I also think that this may be a part of a deal to have Net leave the stage "willingly", retire, and we can put an end to Israeli influence. This would be a solution to the legal problems that Net faces back at home. No Iran, then no need to interfere in US affairs for Isreal's own safety.
However, I think the congressional addiction to AIPAC dollars along with (some) millennial dispensational views shared by them and their constituents will not allow for any great change. The Likud and ‘Greater Israel’ squad will not fade away much. Netanyahu will still have great influence from the shadows even if he stepped down.

Or is it that your own arrogance hopes Trump and the US fail and we get a nuke shoved up our arse......

Of course they wont, why do you think we are moving half the military assets of the world to within striking distance..........

You have confused Trump with obama/biden....

quote:That may well happen. Just my opinion, but I don’t think he is enamored by Netanyahu as much as people think. The President has an ego like no other, and it’s hard to imagine that he wants any appearance that he is doing this (only) in the interest of Israel. Maybe this is the reason for delay, maybe not. He already knows Iran is an a-hole so there must be another angle(?) The large show of force would be hard to walk back.

AIPAC gave about 100million to congress last year, that would make them 17th by industry in lobbying dollars. They arent this all powerful entity everyone purports them to be.

quote:Oh, not “all-powerful”. The MIC, Tech, Pharma & Energy sectors are probably bigger influence peddlers. Israeli or Jewish lobbies may be 17th in contributions but you’d have to admit they get a pretty big bang out of their buck (and they also are involved in the 4 that I mentioned).

Yea, China just tries to infiltrate and destroy us from the inside out without directly confronting us.....the end result is the same it is just a more cowardly and evil method.

Whoa! I’ve never made, nor implied, such an assumption. Plus, I don’t believe it.

The MIC is a shitton smaller than it was before 1993. Anyone claiming it has power is clueless AF.
