Both Lockheed Martin and RTX have publicly announced agreements with DoW (or DoD, or whatever we're calling ourselves this week) to increase missile production.

And then you have new entrants who are looking to get into the game, like the Internet's favorite IPO-in-waiting Anduril Industries.

(On that note, don't work at Anduril. They don't have nap pods, travel isn't exactly business class, and they expect you to test your products - in the field. This video is an insight.) Don't Work at Anduril

I saw an article the other day where the Brits had given theirs to Ukraine. The author was blasting the government because “Trump has been manufacturing more like crazy” and is emphasizing proven technology first rather than building new systems”.

American logistics are the best in the world. As long as we have munitions we will deliver them to the combat zone.

We've been ramping up production since Trump's first term.

Citizen K told me that wasn’t the case at all.

He said that we were churning out munitions.

Was he correct, and that this is a ruse.

Or…is it a legit concern?

With interceptors, aren’t they dependent upon Rare Earth elements?

If so, do we have a legitimate source (other than China).

I know Australia is mining them, but is that enough?

Perfect example of the MIC.

Spend trillions on bullshite, but don’t have what you need when you need it.

I, for one, am glad we have a poster on the inside who was personally on the phone with Raytheon between negotiating offshore drilling rights and advising OPEC on quarterly output.

Last week was workshopping refinery construction timelines like he had a hard hat in the trunk of his Bentley. Now he’s pivoted to munitions throughput analytics. Incredible range. I assume he got the production numbers while finishing a quick call with Lockheed before brunch.

Direct correlation with us sending Ukraine so many interceptors. Ukraine needs them but so de we and if it comes down to it then we come first.

That being said, WE ARE AMERICA. We will produce the munitions. Iran will run out of missiles long before we run out of munitions.

But repeated conflicts with Iran and its proxies in the Middle East have been eating into the supply of air defenses in the region.

And just think. If we wouldn’t have sent all those munitions to the dick playing piano man we probably would not be in this situation

No shite to the pointy-headed alleged “expert”.

A cruise missile takes ten or twenty minutes from ignition to detonation. You can’t build a replacement cruise missile in 20 minutes.

From Google AI....,

quote:

Building a cruise missile typically takes several weeks to months for assembly, though the entire process from order to delivery can span over two years due to supply chain constraints, such as the two-year lead time often seen with U.S. Navy Tomahawk missiles. Rapidly developed, new systems can go from concept to combat in under 9 months.

Key Production Factors:

Assembly Time: Once parts are available, actual assembly of a medium-complexity missile can take several weeks.

Supply Chain: Getting components like semiconductors can take over a year.

Rapid Development: New systems, such as the Ukrainian Flamingo, have been created in under 9 months, including development, testing, and initial production.

Production Volume: While some systems are built at a rate of one per day, factories often aim for higher volumes, such as targeting 200–210 units per month for certain new designs.

Factors such as manufacturing bottlenecks, material shortages, and the complexity of the guidance systems significantly influence the total time from conception to deployment

I wonder is this cold hard fact might have played into Trump 2.0 busting a move on Iran?

From Google AI...,

Does Iran supply Russia with drones and other military supplies?

quote:

Yes, Iran supplies Russia with significant quantities of drones and other military equipment to support its war in Ukraine. Since 2022, Iran has provided thousands of Shahed "kamikaze" drones, ballistic missiles, and millions of rounds of ammunition, with the partnership evolving into localized Russian production of Iranian-designed drones.

I guess Putin will need to source his additional drones and ammo from another nation besides Iran.

Me too, stopped during COVID because the paper copy I read was interrupted (my ability to get it).

I’ve picked it up some since and it’s no longer dad’s WSJ.

I still see it some for financial news but there’s woke creep in that coverage as well.

ETA: This thread was on the OT when I commented.

I have a self-imposed policy of not Poli Boarding.

Have a nice day!
