The current Vice President and SecDef both served in the recent wars.
Joe Biden’s son served in Iraq.

We have a long history of not wanting nor liking war thanks to this Country's unique cataclysm that killed like no other before and almost ended the experiment known as the United States of America.
Thanks to the horrors of the Civil War, Americans wanted nothing to do with WWI ( not our problem) - because of the horrors of WWI, mosr people wanted nothing to do with WWII until Pearl.
And of course the ever popular Vietnam War and the other Korean (baby steps for the MIC)...
Americans historically don't support wars and its not reserved for isolationists. But our elected and non-elected overseers, have other plans and we go along....indifferent to the machine as long as there's no draft....government learned their lesson on selling foreign wars that affect civilian Joe.

The idea is that much of the so called anti-war is being waged by the very institution that aids the military industrial complex. The full speech shows a much more nuanced warning, aimed at the expert class who use defense but also just research in general funded by federal contracts as the real threat.
The MIC is a threat but so is the Scientific Technological Elite (STE).

Exhibit A was Kent State. The students destroyed numerous downtown businesses and causes millions of dollars in property damage. They set the ROTC building (where the National Guard was housed) on fire and then cut the fire hoses when firefighters tried to put it out.
I have a burning, seething hatred in my heart for anyone who does shite like that.

I always support the troops.
I don't always support Politicians that choose to send our boys to a meat grinder just to feed the MIC & lock down political donations.
Weird how people equate supporting politicians with supporting troops
