Yes, it is definitely a good idea for an unelected and unaccountable federal bureaucracy to make a one-size fits all decision which massively impacts the lives of nearly every single one of 330 million American citizens and another 30 million or so illegal immigrants living here.

C'mon. Get real. You know they will probably make an exception for the illegals.

Moderna and Pfizer I’m sure lobbied hard for this because the parents aren’t taking the kids for the vaxx so in this case by making it mandatory that’s several billion more they’ll pull in

Shameful

Teacher's unions probably lobbied harder. They thoroughly enjoyed their extended summer vacations in 2020 and 2021.

Until they can scientifically prove the vaccine does anything to help, this is ridiculous

I thought covid was over...POTUS said so

ETA. I'm sitting here in NE FL and I haven't really had more than a passing thought on covid in almost 1.5 years other than reading this board and seeing the occasional mask wearer... And think "oh yeah"

The left has had total, unchecked control of academia and entertainment for decades now. The right laughed that off as insignificant. What you're seeing now is the results of several generations of Americans having leftist values pushed on them in schools and through their entertainment sources with no pushback or counterbalance.

In other words, exactly what Yuri Bezmenov said the communist plan in America was.

Teacher union president vacationing in Puerto Rico

“ On Twitter, she urged teachers to refuse to return to classroom while on the same day on Instagram she posted pool pictures and talked of getting seafood in Old San Juan.

“I understand that it was insensitive and wrong of me to go on this trip for winter break and for me to share photos of it at a time when thousands of my union sisters and brothers – and the families we serve – are refraining from travel or making only essential plans outside of the home,” read a post purported to be from Sarah Chambers on an educators forum on Facebook. “I deeply regret my actions and I fully understand why many are upset,” the post read.

Hypocrites . All of them.

You had to take an experimental gene therapy with at best a limited safety and efficacy profile for a disease that has nearly zero impact on you as a requirement to go to school? Weird, all I had to do was take a range of proven, approved vaccines (under the real, old description) for diseases that could kill or maim me.

Not where my kids go to school. The tuition would dry up with the quickness if they tried anything like this. They won't though because the leadership is not pro-vax and they weren't pro-lockdown. We were among the first schools in the Memphis area to go back to in person school and to ditch the masks

They don't care. Whether you rent or own, you're paying taxes either way. In fact, still getting 100% of the taxes, but only having to teach 70% of the kids probably sounds like a win to them.

not in Louisiana, you can op out for any/all vaccines at all levels of education

Yes, but that's not the whole story. If your kid opts out of the Covid shot and an outbreak happens (just 2 kids out of say 1000 students) then your opted out kid cannot participate in football, basketball etc. You understand that, right?
