So what's your alternative suggestion?

It will only get worse...
Every industry I know is being pushed to relocate their resources and solutions 'in the cloud', which only means 'someone else's servers'.

If I were king? I'd say we should just destroy the servers. (Maybe keep a limited amount for defense purposes and critical infrastructure like air and water navigation, emergency services, etc) I know this is crazy, but it would dramatically improve people's lives.
But other than that, the system is just going to do it's thing. There is not much that can be done about it. Eventually people will become so weak and stupid, that the system will implode in on itself.

How, exactly?
This is just the strangest organic argument I've seen in a long time.

Can I get my Little Debbie honeybun at Quick Mart this morning? That's all that matters.

Everyone relax. They are just rebooting the McDonalds ice cream machines. Everything will be back up in a few minutes.

Do you believe all this technology is really improving people's lives, especially mentally ans spiritually?
Maybe people would be forced to be useful again, and people will be forced to meet people face to face again, and develop real skills in the real world. This is all completely hypothetical and would not happen other than the scenario of a benevolent monarchy/king making that decree. Otherwise the system will keep doing what the system does.

Did they try turning it off and on again?

Whenever the debit machines are down. The cashiers don't know what cash is, or how to count it.

Pit cancelled all flights last night. Lines are long now.

And just like the attempted assassination, incompetency will be their excuse for plausible deniability. I reckon that the coincidence of the crash coming at the very day of Trump's nomination speech is not a subtle shot across the bow to those who support Trump? I.e., we hold power and if you vote Trump in we pull the plug? Muh Conspiracy.

Trump’s fault, he broke the internet.

Addendum to the above: I just noticed a video of last night's crowd where a delegation is waving "white hats". Need I point out the obvious.

This discussion is not about "all things technology", though.

And what about the economic devolution and massive decrease in SOL across the world?

Can you say "irony"?
