The "46" or the Weights in the fish?

I am going with the "46". I know the weighted fish was for money, but fishing is not known be a sport of integrity....golf is supposed to be.

I'll go with the fish guy. He cheated and expected to get away with it. As despicable as the golf cheaters are, they knew they were going to have to face the music, and that takes some balls in a way.

I’ve seen a ton of cheating in fishing. Most never get caught. A ton…even at the highest level.

I’ve also never played a golf scramble where I felt like the winning team played honest.

They’re all one and the same. The two biggest low level competition you can actually win a bit of money at mostly on the honor system.

The 46 is worse. It's self-evident that they cheated. The fish guys got away with it before.

Fish guy is the worst for me.

People spend a fortune and invest large amounts of time perfecting a craft in fishing tournaments.

Scrambles have a lot guys who play twice a year that aren't really golfers, but they cheat for a B.S. plastic trophy .

I could see a cheater really getting the crap beat out of him at a fishing tournament.

Scrambles - I'm there for the beer and bbq.

The 46 to me is so blatant that I almost think it’s real like they have a 1 on a par 4. You can’t just make that up

I played 4 man scramble with 3 really good golfers, we finished 2nd to the team that won the nationals by 1. 3 of our guys were plus handicaps and the 4th was a killer putter.

54 is the best we ever shot, on a course every par 5 was an iron in, and some of the par 4’s were driveable.

I’ll plainly say a 46 isn’t doable unless it’s a really short, very straight course. Even then I’d have to see it to believe it.

It’s not possible. I don’t care if you have a woman and a senior who get to play from their tees but hit it 330. It’s just not gonna happen.

The 46 score has "throws" which didn't count as strokes. That's apparently how they justified the 1 on the par 4.

Quote from reddit:

I think someone who is connected to them on social media reported they said they hit it to 59 yards of the hole with the drive, then used 2 of their purchased throws to get it in the hole in 1.

The last scramble I played in had a styrofoam cup shot on a par 5. You hit your tee shot from wherever it ended up.

I hit it 250 down the middle and almost holed it from there for what would technically have been a Condor. So if they have enough gimmick holes it is doable, but again I’d have to see it to believe it.

From reddit:

I was at this scramble. Scores were low because each player could buy a mulligan package that included 2 mulligans plus a throw. The throw didn't count as a stroke, so you could theoretically get a hole in one by hitting a drive and using throws to get to the cup. Once on the green, you can essentially lie on your stomach and drop the ball in as long as your feet are at the ball spot.

That being said, a 47 was virtually impossible and they caught a lot of flack for it. It was pretty hilarious.

And they were giving the guys shite when it was announced... as opposed to the weights in fish guys, to this day I don't understand how those frickers didn't get their asses kicked on the spot

i played a 4 man scrabmle back in Oct. i'm an 18, but like most of us, i can hit a nice round in the low 80's on occassion. this particular, playing with 2 of the guys on our team, i just struck everything pure. didn't matter, these 2 guys played golf at almost the highest levels.

we eagled 3/4 par 5's. birdied all 4 par 3's, and birdied 9/10 par 4's, with the lone non-birdie being an eagle. we shot a 50, and used 1 mulligan, and it was as honest as could be, and we won by 1 stroke.

again, these guys never got their cards, but played at that next cut below that, and played in a local tour event and finished pretty damn good.

point being, i agree with the poster above, a 46 just seems damn near impossible. i witnessed 2 pro's, from the whites, drive some par 4's.....place shots from 130-180 out within feet of the cup....and we were draining putts all day as a group....and a 46 wasn't even close.

This. I am not a pro golfer, and will never be. Any tournament I enter, I enter for fun. Never have and never will rely on a golf tournament to provide for my family. The guys in those big dollar fishing tournaments the cheaters won money in were most likely there to in some part, provide for their family, or other significant impact. Blatantly cheating in a public scramble golf tournament clearly displays to everyone you are a piece of shite, but it is of no consequence to anyone. Those cheating fishermen deserve to get the shite kicked out of them physically and financially.

I’m pretty sure the fishers can get charged and prosecuted for multiple felonies including fraud and they did it at several tournaments winning tens of thousands of dollars. They are the clear winners. Most people no cheating is backed into the scramble event and there’s no high stakes prize money.
