i see this has been getting alot of praise by critics...and i'm thinking about checking it out but first can anyone confirm if its free from 'the message' (emphasis on DEI, LGBTQ+, leftist activism etc) ?

It starts off that way but then by season four the showrunners tell you that the show's antagonists were always just a metaphor for Trumpism.

Ignoring the message, it is really not that good.
It gets praise for being raunchy, which is sad. The plot is not moving forward and every season is basically a failed attempt to get Homelander.
That is the entire show, I hope I ruined it for anyone who has not seen it.
Every season's plot - Kill Homelander, yet fail being oh so close.
Filler episodes - Gross sexual stuff and bodies ripped apart for shock value to make the "weird" people come back for more.
It gets praise for being raunchy, which is sad. The plot is not moving forward and every season is basically a failed attempt to get Homelander.
