Recasting Freddy Krueger

Was watching a TikTok and the interviewer was asking random people, “eventually Freddy Krueger will be recast, who is your pick to take over”?
A lot of generic answers were given, but who would you like to see recast?
I think it all depends on the tone. The 2010 remake tried to be too serious (even though I think Jackie Earle Haley would be good with a better script) and the originals was set as a horror movie but a comedy through Freddy’s eyes (kinda like the terrifier movies).
I think David Dastmalchian would be a good fit. Seems like he’s a big horror movie fan and would try to make the role pretty good

But I vote for daniel zovatto. That mfer was creepy as hell in woman of the hour. He could play the same character, but go after kids vs him killing runaways playing rodney alcala

DJ Qualls, even in full makeup, could never be menacing enough to play Freddy.
David Howard Thornton, who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier series, is basically playing Freddy and I think he would knock it out of the park.

One thing I liked about the 2010 remake was that, for a good part of the movie, they led you to believe that maybe Freddy was innocent and was therefore somewhat justified in coming after the children of the people who murdered him.
