Can't imagine not having legal weed and sports gambling options in 2025, mates.

I don’t understand anything about THC. I’ve never taken it and I am not in the medical profession. This whole thing seems silly to me. I really don’t care who takes THC, smokes weed, or whatever. It’s probably motivated by the pharma companies who want it regulated so they can make money?

Dan Patrick is a big government RHINO yankee. Him and Ted Cruz are two of a kind. They both came to Texas to tell real Texans what they can and can't do. We can't even gamble on sports because Dan Patrick wouldn't allow the Senate to vote on a bill that would've put the issue on the ballot.

frick that yankee Maryland clown.

Wow surprised Abbott had the balls to pull it off. We know he has the Wheels.

The Dallas Baptist Conservatives have always, and will always, have incredible power in the Texas Legislature.

Honestly it’s crazy how we still don’t still have draconian Blue Laws in Texas. I don’t know how they let that one slip.

Well, cannabis is so easy to grow that it's very difficult for anyone to capture the market. So, "they" would rather just ban it outright so that you're forced to pick the pharma option.

Abbott urged lawmakers to consider an approach similar to the way alcohol is regulated, recommending potential rules including barring the sale and marketing of THC products to minors, requiring testing throughout the production and manufacturing process, allowing local governments to prohibit stores selling THC products and providing law enforcement with additional funding to enforce the restrictions.

Abbott is particularly arguing for legalizing it

Religious folks say you can’t smoke weed but help flood our country with fentanyl.

And before that it was with weed and cocaine.

Big pharma wants massive regulations in before legalization, that way the little guy is already squeezed out of the market. Much cheaper for them.

The only regulations should be age requirement and testing. The testing of flower should be for any pesticides/herbicides and the testing of edibles should be for residual solvents, impurities, and potency so the customer knows what they are getting.

Don't forget the TX Liquor Lobby.

This bill was a loser and just another reason why Republicans lose. Smart on Gov Abbot to keep the GOP a little bit from the stone age.

The little guys will be squeezed out of the market.

Cash flow, real estate, increased competition, licenses to sell, etc.
