In case you have forgotten (which I know none of you have), today is the fifth anniversary of the darkest day in the history of our democracy: January 6, 2021. Where were you and what were you doing on the day we almost lost our country to tyranny and despotism?

It will be forever remembered as a day I watched the USA enact one of the darkest periods of our country's history. Over the course of the next 3 years, we'd see vaccine restrictions grind our free country to a halt. Then we'd see federal courts run roughshod over the constitution. I remember listening to Ben Shapiro's show that day and I was shocked at what I was hearing - he was completely unhinged at the state of Trumpism and all of MAGA with it. I'm not sure if the show is still available but go listen to it and you'll see the other side of the Biden takeover coin - the fact the establishment GOP was ready to turn tail and become cucked like I could have never before imagined.
Trump winning in 2024 signaled that the American electorate was mad about all of it, including the now current congressional GOP. Today, I'm not sure who deserves more blame... the Biden administration or the Republican Party who just sat back and let it all happen.

I was with my now deceased father at our camp working on his boat.
I had plans at the time to go to DC with my new wife and he thankfully talked me out of it to go help him. He had a bad feeling about it and was right like he usually was. Miss him every day

I remember a pretty prominent pro-Trump poster on this site starting a long thread about how bad it was for MAGA. This was, of course, before the media rewired y’all’s brains into thinking it was just a run of the mill protest.

I guess I was in my office doing office stuff, but I don’t specifically remember. The event just wasn’t all that significant, like 9-11, of the two space shuttle crashes.

It was kings day. Eating a king cake hoping the fraud would be exposed but it never was. No way in hell Biden got 81 million votes. Absolutely a stolen election and our Congress has done NOTHING to secure elections in the future. We’re becoming Venezuela
