If tweet fails to load, click here. I confirmed these numbers with Grok. Investigating them all would be a huge undertaking, but just think of the tax relief that would be possible if all the fraud was exposed.

Good thing we just gutted the IRS, right?

Yeah, because they were doing so much about it before, right?

So in just a handful of states, we have approximately 500 thousand NGO's with a combined yearly budget of well over a trillion dollars.

No wonder congress wants continuing resolutions vs an actual budget.

Yes, it will definitely get better with a smaller IRS. I bet you think crime will go down if we defund the police also.

in cali alone those numbers come out to an average budget of just under 3 million dollars each.for 213,720 NGO's in the state.
How in the absolute frick do we have over a trillion dollars a year operating independently of government control??

How many f'n people does it take to knock on a few doors of $5 million daycares with no kids and 90% fed funding?
Fraud has become some pervasive/in your face, it ain't hard to uncover.

Minnesota Somalis doing work…a fifth of the NGOs that California has, but a fourth of the funding.
Pirates gonna pirate.

Defund all of them, make the ngo provide a list of services with receipts attached, and then have DOGE establish if it warrants any money.

And until this happens, I'll just keep filing extensions. Talk about taxation without representation.

NGOs are responsible for most of the evil in the world today.

How much experience do you have with the IRS?

How are NGOs even permissible in this day and age?
They are literally government-funded entities siphoning off taxpayer money to do things that the government isn't Constitutionally allowed to do.
You want to know what conservatives should actually be out in the streets protesting? Well, NGOs is one of the things for sure.

While exact real-time figures for all Louisiana nonprofits receiving federal funds are hard to pinpoint, data shows over 1,200 Louisiana nonprofits received government grants with substantial federal funding going to the state (around $22 billion+ in recent years), funding health, education, and infrastructure, with nonprofits playing a key role in delivering services, though specific agency and grant-level data requires deeper dives into federal databases like USAspending.gov.
Key Figures & Context Number of Nonprofits:
In a 2025 study by Urban Institute, Louisiana had 1,214 nonprofits (990 filers) reporting government grants.
Total Federal Funds to Louisiana: Louisiana received approximately $21.9 billion to $22.9 billion in federal transfers in FY2022-2023, supporting state/local governments and entities.
Nonprofit Reliance: Around 30% of U.S. nonprofits receive government grants, totaling over $300 billion annually, indicating significant federal support for the sector.
Where to Find More Specific Data USAspending.gov:
This federal database tracks federal spending, including grants to organizations. You can filter by state (Louisiana), agency, and awardee type (nonprofit). IRS Form 990s:
Candid.org and the Urban Institute use these annual filings to identify nonprofits receiving government funds.
Challenges
Data Granularity: Aggregated state data doesn't always detail individual grants to specific nonprofits.
Pass-Through Funds: Money goes from federal to state, then to local/nonprofit, making tracking complex.
To get a precise number for Louisiana, you'd need to use filters on USAspending.gov or search IRS data on nonprofits that file Form 990s.
