And if he gets reelected, Cassidy will be on that list next year. But he turns into a Republican during a reelection year.

Each of them should have to explain their reasoning to their constituents. A LOT of these people need to be reminded that they serve the people, not themselves.

The corrupt Political Establishment OWNS a lot of Republicans, too. And, they're very happy being owned. $$$

If the opportunity ever presented itself, those Senators would vote to remove Trump in an impeachment trial. That’s if they thought they could survive the political hit for doing so.

You want some Black Democrat Leftist from New Orleans or Shreveport for a Senator. Hard Right Candidates, can't get elected in LA. Too many Moderate Democrats and Republicans

Of course, and the average American voter is too uninformed, detached, or downright stupid to do anything about it, and they know it.

What is this? Just a little bit of commentary/explanation would go far in getting your point across.

AI Overview
The term "SAVE Act" primarily refers to the proposed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, a bill requiring federal proof of U.S. citizenship (like a passport or birth certificate) for voter registration, aiming to prevent non-citizens from voting

Thanks for posting. I wondered what the holdup was.

Anybody heard:
-what the objection is from the hold outs?
-why President Trump is taking to the bully pulpit to push this?

I sure as hell will not be voting for Cassidy. Hope someone primaries him and they will get my vote.

It wouldn't pass even if brought for a vote. You need 7 Dems which would never happen. They love their illegal voters.

Edit: According to Grok, those 18 people do not oppose the bill. They are simply 18 people who didn't cosponsor it. Not being a cosponsor doesn't mean they would vote no. Thune is the only one with the power to bring it to a vote.

What's sad is the number was 17 a couple days ago.

More defections.

Usual suspects too.

Those who oppose this legislation fall into two camps.

First, those who just hate Trump and will always vote to thwart him. These are all Democrats.

Second, those who oppose federal overreach into an area of traditional state control. These are all Republicans.

Conflating the two groups OR their rationale is stupid.
