The projected top QBs of the 2025-26 CFB season had a genuinely amazing fall-off

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it with this many guys involved. Going into the season, just as an example, here were Phil Steele's top 10 quarterbacks:
1. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
2. Arch Manning, Texas
3. Cade Klubnik, Clemson
4. Sam Leavitt, Arizona State
5. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
6. Drew Allar, Penn State
7. Carson Beck, Miami
8. Nico Iamaleava, UCLA
9. Haynes King, Georgia Tech
10. Rocco Becht, Iowa State
Mendoza was 14th.
And several other outlets had rankings with most of the same guys.
It's wild how everybody seemed to get it so wrong this year.

Arch Manning really turned it around.
Leavitt was injured (#1 QB in portal)
Yeah majority of them were busts

Manning, Klubnik, and Allar should have never been on the list to begin with based off of 2024

Arch had a great end to his season - shades of Burrow 2018
We love Arch

Did they though?
I mean Nussmeier was a bust but LSU was a bust in general.
Arch came on the second half of the season, same with Klubnik.
Leavitt was productive but got injured.
Sellers had the worst offensive line in the country with dogshit game plans.
Penn State was a bust this year and Allar got injured.
Beck is playing for the Ship.
Nico was productive after the DEI hire was canned but got injured too.
King was a stud this year. Tech would have been a playoff team if their defense could stop a wet fart from rolling up hill.
Becht took a minor step back because his top 2 WRs from 2024 left for the NFL and took over 60% of their receptions, yards, and tds with them.
3 guys with injuries, 2 late developers, 2 very productive guys who were definitely top 10 guys, one who was going to take a stepback, one who had the worst ol in the country, and then the LSU bust.

Arch was so bad in the first half that any improvement could be maybe seen as "coming on".
Did Klubnik really make any improvements? I dunno.

Klubnik’s entire 2025 season was such a huge dropoff from 2024 that I’m not sure if any improvements throughout the season mattered.

Nussmeier is the only one who lost his job due to his play. What’s your excuse for that?

There are quite a few highly respected NFL media members/voices who believe Arch would still be the 1OP if he declared. So I would not call his season a fall off.

I feel like once Arch started playing weak SEC defenses he got better. I’m not sure I see the hype in him.
If he played in the big ten everyone here would hate on him.

I’m a big LSU fan but objectively I’m not sure he’s that wrong.

Nussmeier 90% of the blame for his down year is on the terrible coaching, 9% injuries from the shitty OL, 1% on Nuss. You don’t just forget to sling it.
Kelly and that joke of an OC cost him millions. His dad must have been fuming watching those games.

That you Mrs. Nussmeier? Never seen anyone say it was "90% not the QB's fault for his shitty season."

Where is the LSU insult after this question? Since they never seem to be able to answer a question with an actual civil, informed remark.

Nussmeir was a bust but Sellars gets this benefit of the doubt?
Your hatred of LSU is truly blinding.
