Got halfway through season 1 of Pluribus and decided to put it down

Wanted to wait until the entire season dropped. The burn was just too slow for a weekly drop. Now that it’s over I find myself struggling to pick it back up. I’m a big VG fan, but found it really dragged in the middle of the season. For those who have finished it (without spoilers or specifics) was season 1 worth the watch? Did it pick up? Did it leave you looking forward to season 2?

I just finished season 1 last week and while I am interested enough to continue watching when season 2 drops, whenever that is, it's a series I probably won't do a re-watch. IMO it's not horrible but it's not been exactly great either, at least so far

I haven’t watched yet but I love me some Vince. I’m hearing season 2 won’t be out for a long time so based on that and non-spoiler season 1 feedback, I’m just going to wait until season 2 comes out and watch it all at once.

I'd say things do pick up a bit, but honestly, I'd suggest just waiting until S2 comes out, in about 2 years, and starting over. These shows take far too much time in between seasons.

I struggled to get through 5 episodes. I may give it another shot when S2 comes out.

I’ll be honest, my wife and I weren’t sure after three or four episodes but we stuck it out and I’m glad we did
It does suck you in and I trust Vince Gilligan. The first season of better call Saul was the same way. He will take his time to just set things up for future seasons.
He said he wants it to be four seasons and knows how it ends so I give him the benefit of the doubt
It’s a quick watch so I would highly recommend to finish it

I fell asleep during every episode after E1. Finished it but won’t recommend it. There’s way more engaging shows to spend your time on.

I usually give shows 2-3 episodes to grab me. I like the concept but I didnt find myself needing to watch the next episode.

Love Vince but S1 was just alright. Took them 9 episodes to do what should've taken them 3 or 4 - we didn't need an entire season of them just showing how the world worked now. A lot of wasted time spent flexing the Apple budget. It was well produced TV with a level of quality that few other shows can replicate, but it is certainly not appointment viewing and a lot of people have lost or will lose interest.
No way this goes 4 seasons.

he burn was just too slow

Total trash. Massive fail. Downvote me, please.

Kim Wexler needs a lot more of a supporting cast. She's great, but not THAT compelling. Vince should have had another storyline or 2 if shes the lead. She just gets...old.

Yeah, S2 isn't even written yet - based on some stuff I've seen folks say - so if it comes out on the back half of 2027, I'd be shocked.

If you watched it with no volume/subtitles, you'd never know that it's sci-fi, per se, but that it's purely conceptual sci-fi might make it the most pure form of the genre out there.
I liken it to a longform story told in The Twilight Zone.

I thought season 1 started out very strong, then it kind of lulled me to sleep for the rest of the season. The last episode was interesting enough for me to watch season 2, but it didn’t really pick back up until the last 15 minutes of the finale. A lot of episodes in the middle where very little happens

For me:
Yes.
Not really a whole lot.
Yes.
It’s a weird show for me. Because while I admit that it’s not overly good and I was a little disappointed being a VG fan, I also really liked it a lot. Admittedly, that’s because of my faith in VG. So while I do expect it to be great, it would’ve been cool if we had gotten more answers and info this season. But I definitely like the show a lot, am with it as long as it airs, and am pumped about S2 (which I assume won’t be for like five years, which is stupid).
