Why does President Trump care so much about the Nobel Prize?

Trump is best when he acts according to his own standards. He is best when the liberal elite hate him. They are never going to come around. They will die with "Orange Man Bad" as the last words out of their mouths.
The Nobel Prize has always been handed out by and to liberal elite scum.

Because he knows the Left adore and worship it so much, the mere fact he's mentioned along side it infuriates them. Plus, let's be honest, Obama was given it for pure virtue signaling purposes, when he did absolutely nothing to earn it.

Trump is an interesting personality in that everything about him and his behavior points to the conclusion he doesn't mind ire or vitriol directed at him, as long as he's the one inviting or provoking it.
Otherwise, he seems to have an obvious need—nay, craving—to be thought of as THE BEST.
He's seemingly always got to think he wins. This has been obvious since he started running in 2015/2016.
And the thing he seem to not be able to stand more than anything is indifference. He'll take the vitriol (because it gives him a fight, which he has to be satisfied that he wins), he craves the affirmations, but he can't abide indifference.
It seems perfectly in line with his personality to be fixated on the NPP. We're talking about a guy who almost certainly ran for (and won) the presidency in the first place just because Obama mocked him at a dinner and made him mad.
