Would a Baseball Game in Tiger Stadium sell out?

Mahtook mentioned it in their pod that they should do that as a game. Turn the field into a baseball field. How would that work? Sounds like an awesome experience to do 1xyear. Would be a dope recruiting pitch also.

No it wouldn't, but maybe gets 50k either way no chance TS can be configured properly for a baseball game so it doesnt matter.

I don't think there is enough "field" to make it reasonable.

This. The confines are entirely too tight. That’s one of the things that makes it such a great football only venue.

How deep would the short side fence be from home plate? Can't imagine it's any more than 180 feet. Would be very goofy looking.
Edit: even with that, I believe there would be a ton of butts in seats if they tried to force this and didn't way overcharge for it.

If it were physically possible, it would easily blow out the current college baseball single game attendance record, but no, it wouldn’t even come close to selling out. Between the passion of the fanbase and the novelty, I think we would probably flirt with 30-40k.

When they turn “football stadiums” into baseball fields or other configurations, it’s because of removable seating.

They play football on baseball fields, they rarely play baseball on a football field.

this and we also have pretty much the least amount of room on the sidelines and endzone for it to be possible without some very short distances in the alleys and cf

Nebraska volleyball got 92,000 to a game at their football stadium.
As others have mentioned, the configuration wouldn’t allow for it. But hypothetically speaking, if the school really incentivized it I think we could really challenge that figure. Couldn’t be a Tuesday night against Northwestern State. Would have to be a Saturday night against Arkansas or something, with planning a year or two in advance

We would never do it, but like many problems, it's more of a question of money than anything. We could, theoretically, build an artificial field on decking above the current field which would allow you to stretch over some of the existing seating. We would simply never do something so absurd for a novelty game.

You'd get right at 200' on the right field line. The width of a football field is 160'. You have about 35' on each sideline to the fence. Assuming it can't be moved, put a sung 40' behind home plate, and you are roughly at 190' in right field. But you can rotate the field a few degrees to put the left field pole on the east side fence which means the right field line isn't parallel to the goalline.
If that fence can be removed, it would add 5-10' on either side.
Still too small, but it would be cool for a mid-week or exhibition game.

Just rebuild the stadium. Duh.

Correct. TS couldn't be configured to host a baseball game (at least one that is supposed to be non-exhibition game)
The Savannah Bananas played in Clemson's stadium this past summer. Here is what a baseball configuration in TS would probably look like:

the single game record crowd is 40,106 in a game between San Diego St and Houston in PETCO park in 2004. It was the first game ever played in PETCO, which would explain why that game drew the crowd it did.
Behind that was a game between UGA and Missouri at Suntrust (33k) Ga Tech v UGA at Suntrust (28k) and LSU v Tulane at the Superdome (27k) in 2002

agree. not practical. i also forgot the field has one of the larger crowns in cfb which would make it almost impossible to do without decking

I played golf in TS so I sure as shite would watch a baseball game there.
Don’t care about the logistics they can figure it out
