Would you rather try to escape a great white or grizzly bear?

Let’s say for the great white you get a spear gun for the sake of argument to at least help you keep it at a distance while you swim. With the grizzly you have nothing but a walking stick but clearly more optimal on land. I’d still take the grizz. Hopefully I climb a tree and he decides it’s not worth it. Probably fricked either way though

I guess a grizzly, I don't think I could out swim a great white...

I'd take either over trying to escape a Great White concert.

Can't out climb and out run a grizzly and out swim a great white. Color me a goner.

You have to take the one where both are on their natural terrain. Unless I am within sight of a beach, or a vessel, then the Grizzly is the only option. A great white in open water can attack you from anywhere and you have to tread water, keep the spear available to strike while still attempting to escape. You wouldn't last 30 minutes. Grizzly at least you can utilize the terrain to your advantage and put some distance, so maybe you escape, or at least last a few hours if you play your cards right.

Which is one is going to say I was asking for it because of what I was wearing?

I'm taking the Great White and spear gun. Poke him in the nose or eye and pray he leaves me alone.
The Grizzley is gonna be tough to shake. You'd have to play dead and hope he doesn't mall you.
I'd rather take fate into my own hands.
Grizzlies are also more aggressive than Great Whites. Sharks tend to bite humans out of confusion or curiousity. Shark attacks tend to be a single bite whereas a Grizzley is going to shred and eat you till you're dead.

I'd take the great white. I'm likely dead either way so I'd rather take the quicker death with the off chance that the spear gun helps me luck into a safe escape.

Hope both animals enjoy the taste of human waste cause I'm shittin everywhere if either were to ever happen

It depends if I was with Anthony Hopkins or if I was with Roy Schneider.

Both scenarios are grim, however, how long can you swim or even tread water? Not very long my friend. I have to take my chances on land.

You can deter a great white with a spear gun. You can not deter a grizzly bear with a walking stick

Can I pick outrunning a great white through the woods?

From the many videos I've seen re grizzly bear attacks, one of the first thing a grizzly does is to bite & rake a person's face. That would seem to end any chance to get away from the beginning. I've not seen any stories where the victim gets away from climbing a tree. And, FWIW, many claim that polar bears as a group are more vicious than a grizzly.

Ahhh the squid technique. Very clever.

Id trust my feet/legs on the ground WAY more than my feet/legs in the water.
I'd take my shot with the Bear.
tldr: I'd die in either scenario.

I guess I'd go shark even though it would be more terrifying because I would have the harpoon or whatever. At least can take a shot. Grizzly with just a cane, I'm dead most likely.
Even if you somehow survived the bear, you made so much noise the cougar now knows exactly where you are.
