The state just has to "restore his capacity" now. This is such a joke that he's even on trial. There is a video of him stabbing a woman to death in cold blood.

Cubbies is going to get DeCarlos his GED. Poor young man just needed some meaning in his life.

He would probably be a surgeon or physicist if not for systemic racism.

They had long enough to get him on medications. This is BS.

So here is a question I have.

Brown is found to be incompetent, yet his doctors pre-killing were cool with him just cruising around the streets. Why aren't doctors held liable when their patients run off to murder someone? Crazy people should be put on a list and have limited ability to interact with society in an uncontrolled environment.

This is no different than judges springing a'holes who go out and murder someone. We have zero accountability in this country it sucks.

This. And he's still in federal custody.

Ridiculous that this is even a possible disposition.

The court's basically saying "this is a violent subhuman with no agency" and then claiming that oh well, there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Feds will probably step in and find a crime to prosecute him for if the state won't do anything. Likely something from the civil rights division of the DOJ for a "hate crime"

Everybody that saw this individual prior to the stabbing is getting sued.

Do doctors have the authority to lock somebody up? Physicians and hospitals get crazy people every day and there’s no solution.

Its not like he gets cut loose. It just means he can't be tried. Depending on what happens with the federal charges, he will remain in custody at a secure psychiatric facility indefinitely.

Doesn't that seem wasteful Mr. Budget Hawk?

It’s from a defense motion. The court hasn’t actually ruled yet.

Yep, the story and headline is a nothingburger just meant to get y’all riled up.

This dude is locked up indefinitely in a mental institution with less freedom & privileges than he’d have in jail or prison.
