Do we care about this? Serious question.

The Strait of Hormuz has not opened to ship traffic after the U.S. and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, said the CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on Thursday.
“This moment requires clarity,” said Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber in a social media post. “So let’s be clear: the Strait of Hormuz is not open. Access is being restricted, conditioned and controlled.”
Iran has made clear that ships must obtain its permission to pass through the Strait, Al Jaber said. “That is not freedom of navigation. That is coercion,” the ADNOC chief said.
ADNOC is the United Arab Emirates’ state-owned oil company. The UAE is the third-largest oil producer in OPEC, pumping 3.4 million barrels per day before the war broke out on Feb. 28
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the ceasefire was subject to Iran agreeing to the complete, immediate and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz. But ship traffic through the strait has not picked up since the ceasefire took effect, freight analysts have told CNBC. Traffic remains at the slow trickle that has been observed during most of the war, they said.
Do we care about this? Serious question.

Seems like the ceasefire should be voided

Yes. It needs to be opened.
The Iranians are saying it's a security concern so they can ensure that ships avoid mines but they're also trying to grift off of it.

It won't because that would just produce more waste . Just ignore and declare victory

Well it affects us so yea.
I'm still in awe Iran can claim islands that are in international waters. Kharj is 15-20 miles off the Iranian coast

No one is blockading it.
It's just a matter of if a shipper wants to risk it.

And this kind of shite is why the regime needs to be dismantled completely and absolutely.

The Straight is not open
One of my coworkers from our Dubai office is in town this week. He was just telling me about the insane amount of munitions fired at UAE in the last month. It became common place to hear explosions daily.
UAE isn't happy with Iran. Now if they would stand their ground militarily is another story.

Yes. Despite everything you hear from the White House or people on this board, a long-term closure or partial closure of the Strait of Hormuz will lead to significant economic fallout worldwide, including here in the United States.

From what I understand the UAE military is fairly impressive. Not sure of their numbers, but the tools are there.

Nobody that’s been a part of the Islamic regime is going to negotiate in good faith.

Ship Traffic map
Seems like tankers are hugging the Iranian/northern side.
Lemme try to guess as I have no geopolitical experience in this:
These are the Iranian-tolled ships that are being slowly escorted nowhere near the two shipping in/out lanes.
Or they are going to Bandar. No clue.

Shutting down the strait is 5D chess. Some of you low IQ posters just can’t see it yet.
