One thing is for certain: Jay will not sleep this June

He’s going to recruit and portal harder than we ever have. Hopefully there are a few good pieces up for grabs.

He’s also not going to be coaching in the NCAA tournament this summer so he ought to have plenty of time to fix this mess he put together.

Jay gonna go all Lane Kiffin mode on the baseball roster this offseason.

There are always good players willing to transfer if you have the cash. That’s why we were ranked preseason #1. I remember Jay recruiting on the bus on the way home from Omaha last year.

He stood in front of the camera the other day, took responsibility and promised it won't happen again, so I'll take him at his word. This season is done. He better follow through though because this team is historically bad.

That’s a given. And he won’t have to delegate scouting this year the way I’m sure he had to last year in Omaha.

So what does it take to resurrect something like this? Would a solid transfer class gets things back rolling? Or at least halfway rolling?

He also said he will keep LSUs young players he recruited and believe in his talent evaluations that led them here in the first place.

I’m curious how many he plans to bring in from the portal. From the looks of things, he’s got to replace the entire outfield and both middle infielders. I think Braun, Pearson and Serna/Arrambide will be the only returning starters.

Cooper Moore? He’s a Junior and not sure he’d fetch too much from the MLB, so possible he’d return.

Then there’s reality.
All of the freshmen who don’t leave on their own will be back. Jay flat-out said this Friday night.
Guidry isn’t going anywhere. Used properly like today, he’s just fine. He’s been asked to do too much this year and he’s just not that guy.
I’m not a Rizy fan, but I’ll bet money the staff take another shot at fixing his mechanics.
Why would we let Moore go?
Lack will likely be back.
I highly doubt both of Serna and Bide will be here next year. I would bet on Serna being a year younger.
Caraway likely isn’t going anywhere. He has one more year.

I doubt it happens, but Curiel would be the only one who might stay. Since he’s a draft-eligible sophomore, he wouldn’t be giving up his leverage if he played next year and then went to the draft. That’s usually the issue when we talk about players forgoing the draft.

He’s projected to go Top 10-15. Even with leverage, those guys don’t come back unless something strange happens.

Yeah, that’s why I said I doubt it happens. I just brought it up because it’s feasible in the way that a Junior staying isn’t unless they don’t go where they expect to in the draft.

That it the truth. He will never let this happen again and be more driven for excellence than ever before.
Posted on 4/19/26 at 6:28 pm to BMTiger
Time will tell. He may not be “all in” because of lack of administration support………

He came up short in the portal this present season and the results are showing up in big fashion.
