Absolutely! I live in Alabama and they definitely don't prance around with the same cockiness. It's like they're in this weird state where they realize they are still pretty good, but very close to being average or below average if things continue the way they are going.

They still want to win, but there is a large percentage of Alabama fans that also wouldn't mind going 0-5 next season just to get rid of DeBoer. I think most Tide fans still consider him a good coach, but he's just not a good fit, especially after watching that 35-point thumping by Indiana.

They all say he's a nice guy, but nice guys don't last long when you're swimming with the biggest sharks in the ocean!

It seems that it is no longer the top destination school

There are still a ton of kids out there who would put Bama on their short list and many as their dream school but as time goes on and competitiveness slips the value will slip as well

How bout we actually beat them a few times, maybe win 4/5 or something before we bury them.

It's great that we got Kiffin and all to hopefully restore our shine, but no one should take us seriously until we make a playoff run considering how much we've fallen on our face the last 5 years

Saban was the brand.
That’s the drawback of deifying coaches.
No one can avoid aging out.

Not as appealing as when Saban was there and they were the top dog or in conversation for it every year. Will wait until they miss playoffs a couple years in a row while losing 3-4 games a year to declare this. I could see it happening though

Agree. It's a different area. Ive read much about it's because Bama/Saban can't buy players.

Saban was a great recruiter and could develop players or "process" them out.

The tables turned. The players have family and agents looking for the most money.

Anyone that thinks Bama was the richest school paying players are not familiar why the "SabanRule" was put in place.

Bama has been thru this before. We're lucky a coach like DeBoer took the challenge. Time will tell.

I think it’s safe to say that the success that Deboer has had at Alabama was due to the players that Saban has recruited and the culture that was already set in place. Much like Les Miles had at LSU. Eventually it will run its course and i think the sooner Alabama can bring in Curt Cignetti the better. Thats if of course he would leave Indiana for Bama. I think this year you will see the drop off even more. I could see Alabama losing 3 regular season games.

Sounds like you're the pussy because you can't handle the fact that LSU hasn't been relevant on the field since we beat Clemson.

When everybody could hand out bags of cash like they were doing under the table, well the great equalizer

So, in your opinion Bama was the only team handing out "Bags of Cash"?

Didn't "Honey Badger" address that a few days ago?

Ever heard the story of Abernathy in Beloxi, MS. with a bag of cash?

A little I think but it could easily come right back. I hope it does because the last 19 years have made this game fun. Not so much the endings but everything else.

The general consensus here in Georgia seems to be that Bama is still a good program, just not winning a national championship every other year like they used to. Saban was the GOAT college football coach, so without him, Bama as a program has fallen from dynasty to good. DeBoer just can't keep up that legacy.

Saban gone and no longer getting away with illegally paying players more than anyone else.
